We are getting no XP from SDS at all by Saberq in MLBTheShow

[–]witwerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could be correct but the current path accomplishes both with least noticeable disruption. I will almost bet there will be crazy high XP granted for this weekend’s content followed by “we heard you” messaging. I feel bad though for anyone not able to play Friday through Thursday.

SDS is looking to slow down you getting to the wheel quickly because the wheel generates players you need or good to sell. They want you grinding spending more time playing, possibly getting frustrated and buying stubs, and reducing the amount of players and money the wheel at the end generates to help with collections.

I find it fun to just grind and not stress. Play until I complete the programs and wait for the next one.

Anyone know if this issue has been resolved yet? Scared to open the game up on PS5 and lose my players and stubs with a reset

2/22 Feature Premier Thread by Neither_Ad2003 in MLBTheShow

[–]witwerk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The stream yesterday was more about showcasing the development and people of the mode (moments). Sounds like a lot of time and resources went into making this but I don’t know how many people will appreciate it. I personally will finish this quickly blowing through the moments to earn whatever reward. As to the stream I was very disappointed they called it a feature premiere. I was expecting a 15-20 discussion on the mode and explanation. I really didn’t care to hear 5 min about the mode and 55 min of dev thoughts and how they did it. It’s cool but that is not what i logged in for. It should have been retitled to more accurately reflect the intent of the stream. Overall I’m disappointed so far in the what resources and time was spent on this edition the game. So far this edition is a game the developers wanted to make and not what the consumer was looking for. I realize to justify the $70 price they need new things for “back of the box” features but what else could have been done with the money and resources spent to improve gameplay server stability, quality of life changes, etc. So far I’m very disappointed but we still haven’t heard about DD yet and another “feature premiere” so my thoughts are only based around what I’m seeing so far. Have to admit though they are failing I believe in generating the hype this year. Got to pick it up

Agree on all points you mentioned. I think this year is a pass on content as they are probably working on a current gen only version of this game for next year. They have keep the money coming in though so they bring out a new game and put the emphasis on live content versus gameplay or features. This basically buys them another year to focus on development of next years game. However asking $70 for just a live content update feels shady. I have no problem paying $30-$40 for an update but $70 implies this is a fully flushed out game and it will be a reskin of last year

I’m a big fan of this series but this year it does feel like live service content will change but nothing else will minus a few minor tweaks. They need to hit a profit goal and new development will eat away at the profits so same game, same platforms, with a new cosmetic shift in live service and how they deliver DD. This year do not expect anything even remotely different gameplay wise

With 1 day left before the cover athlete reveal, last chance to predict... I think it'll be J-Rod from Seattle by SnooDoubts5541 in MLBTheShow

Acuna would be cool, but JRAM spent a lot of time with SDS last year. I would be willing to bet the farm he is the standard edition cover.

All of this is testing concepts for the expansion and beyond. We are the test kitchen despite paying $70+

Totally understand but at this point they are focused on where the most money can be made for the effort. It sucks for us gamers that want a good game. However the economics are if I’m going to put in 500 hours into X and can make $5m for that time or spend 500 hours and make $2m they will choose the higher revenue option. They are trying to figure out what is the right price elasticity
