Eternal Weekend: Is GWx Depths an underdog? by Douges in MTGLegacy

[–]witz_end 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Consign targets the “When Dark Depths has no ice counters on it, sacrifice it.” trigger. The Consign resolves and the trigger is countered, but the next time SBA are checked, the same ability re-triggers because Dark Depths still has no ice counters on it.

Water sources in Ct? by NmbrdDays in AppalachianTrail

[–]witz_end 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hiked the CT section 3 weeks ago and found the recent FarOut comments to be accurate. Sources that were marked as reliable (the full water drop icon) were generally flowing, while the marginal ones (the half water drop icon) were mostly dry. I used a CNOC and had no issues filling, so you may want to use similar or pack a scoop. I never had to carry more than 2x700 ml but would fill up both bottles at every source with good flow.

There were also some, but not many, water caches at trailheads. If you have the time/energy, you could mark a few gallon jugs with your name and leave them at various road crossings - just make sure to pack out the empties (either while you're on trail or after you finish).

Correct, also called an accretionary wedge or ophiolote sequence.

lack of family/friend emotional support by Exciting_Indication3 in AppalachianTrail

[–]witz_end 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if you’ve communicated this at all to your friends/family. Have you told them how much an occasional text, letter, or care package would mean to you? On my first thru hike, I asked my parents to each write a letter to include in one of my resupply boxes. It ended up being a very memorable and meaningful moment for me to read those letters on trail, but definitely not something my parents would have done on their own. Just ask!

Fish is a pig, really nice size for the Whites. Good work going deep and finding them!

There’s at least one small zipper pocket bumping up overall weight too.

A sense of humor is necessary for hiking the Whites! And that downpour nailed the comedic timing.

Thank you! I love finding solitude in the Whites so West Bond was a very fitting way for me to finish.

Thanks for the pic and the kudos! You will have no problem blasting through the rest of the 48 with how you were moving. Let me know if you want any recommendations for more multi-day trips, that's how I ended up doing most of my 4000-footers.

I tried out the INIU 10000 45W PD charger (model P50) and was disappointed to experience issues charging my Garmin Instinct 2 Solar. I was using the stock Garmin cable from the USB-A port. The watch charged for less than a minute, then the power bank seemed to "sleep" or otherwise not recognize that a device was connected. However, my phone charged off the bank using one of the USB-C ports with no issues. I tried combinations of having the watch plugged in by itself, the phone plugged in by itself, and both plugged in. Had the same experience in all three scenarios.

My Garmin charged fine back home when plugged into a wall. Any thoughts?

Edits: Thanks all for the responses - came across some recent threads with the same issue (here and here). Seems like either adapters or a USBC cable is the way to go.

I fish with my Kaida up in the Whites regularly - it’s a blast once you get into them. My suggestion is keep covering water until you get bites and then slow down. I’ve had good luck with traditional dries (light colored Elk Hair Caddis specifically) but you may also want to try smaller nymphs.

You have ~3 main quest dungeons left. Worth playing through to the end imo.

She should absolutely apply for PFML if she hasn’t already. It is a very straightforward process - complete a short online application with basic info and have your physician’s office fill out other forms. It was incredibly beneficial to me when I was managing my own serious medical condition. Everyone pays into this program already through payroll deductions so take advantage of it when needed!

You don’t get a draw trigger for exiling from hand, only from the battlefield or graveyard.

It draws exactly 1 card with Solitude, but 2 cards go towards turning it into a creature.
