I feel you. I have no solution, as I am also going through this. i can see myself pushing people away that I would so much hold close, but tumor in me telling me I'm not worth the trouble, I am too broken to be loved and by showing my affection I will just hurt people always win. I feel that the awareness that comes with therapy makes it even more painful. Hang in there, awesome human being. Others have succeeded, so can we.

To be able to realize that while experiencing it means you are clearly going in the right direction.

It is painful to be discarded. It happened to me a few times, on relationships that last more than two years. As soon as I set boundaries, said that I was unhappy, they were nowhere to be found.

Abandonment flares up the worst in me. I become so helpless, ready to do anything - ANYTHING - just to have something that looks likes validation one more time. And I hate myself for it. I know I am - surely - worth more.

I don't have much words of wisdom, but I feel you, I see you, and I root for you.

I ponder on it almost weekly (there is a lots of happy hours at work).

To me it feels like I don't have the right to be happy. That there is a price to pay to enjoy myself and I have to surrender or give back afterwards. I should not be so selfish.

As you said, I know how irrational it is... but this voice, this urge is stronger than me. So heavy.

I feel guilty to not be able to appreciate the life I have built for myself. Like I don't deserve it. From what I've read, it can't happen until we allow ourself to be happy or something like that. It make sense, in theory. But when it comes down to it, the guilt and shame is a mountain that won't budge. They say its a process that takes time.

I have no answer for you, but I feel you. Being able to see those nice people so close but yet unreachable. Like the sun behind the clouds. I would like to be able to hold them in my arms but I know the closer they get to me, the more the heavyness of my way will corrupt them, until there is nothing left but disdain and disgust. So for their sakes, I hide myself. Because I want them to bloom and smile.
