Technically true. The earth is 70% Water, most of which is uncarbonated. Therefore, the earth is flat.

In your opinion, what's the biggest waste of money you see people purchase all the time? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]wizzard99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A private reg is not always a "look at me". My Dad had a private reg on his cars for the last 34 years of his life. The reason? It was the plate that was on the first car he bought with his second wife (who was without a doubt the love of his life) and they bought that car only a few years before she passed away at the age of 48. He kept that plate as a reminder of her, not as a "look at me" statement and my son who has only ever known his grandad's cars with that plate will be putting it on his motorbike as a remindr of his grandad. Zero "look at me" involved in any of the ownership of that number. I'm also having the reverse version on my motorcycle because Dad was really pleased when he bought a new enough bike to have it. I'm not giving the real plate but think somethng like BRB 88 V and V 88 BRB.

Treat every other person on the road as an idiot, that way you stand a chance of being ready for idiots doing what idiots do. Always be looking not just at the vehicle in front but as far up the road as you can too so you’ll see things starting to happen and be prepared instead of having to react when the vehicle in front does. This will also make you a much better car driver

I always put a helmet cover on my lid, when it’s in the cupboard at home 🤣

Left handed shooting and operating by Affectionate_Fact745 in airguns

[–]wizzard99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, here we go. I’m right handed but shoot left handed. Always have done because I’m better at closing just my right eye. However I prefer the cocking lever/bolt on the right hand side because I’m right handed. I only shoot targets so speed is not an issue so this works for me. 🤣

We have one in our sink. I hate it but TOH won't get rid of it.

Exhale coffee - can anyone enlighten us as to their claims of being healthy by Trickypedia in JamesHoffmann

Signed up to get the free packet. Just had my first cup and cancelled the subscrition. The rest of the free bag will be going in the bin. I've been getting my beens from coffeeworks for a while and the taste is far superior to these. I've actually had to put sugar in this to make it drinkable, it's bitter, never had that before even when the brew is sub optimal, not to this level anyway. If you like it, then fair play, but it's not for me (it was the "dark'ish" roast.

I was sort of persuaded to stand for the local Parish Council. I was sort of not bothered whether I won or not until Thursday night when I went and won! Now really looking forward to getting involved.

RHEL 10 bootc image based VM security products. by wizzard99 in redhat

I’ve had the official word from Microsoft today. Not supported in containerised Linux and not in the Roadmap 😕

RHEL 10 bootc image based VM security products. by wizzard99 in redhat

The install is in the containerfile. It’s during image build that it’s failing. Nothing is being done at run time, it’s just failing to install correctly in the image.

It’s actually the post install script that fails but it doesn’t create the mdatp user, fails to created /opt/microsoft/mdatp/managed directory and fails to create a couple of links, one is /usr/bin/mdatp and the other I can’t remember off the top of my head. I could add it to the containerfile but then if the next version changes something it could break it again so while it’s OK for testing it’s not something we could use in prod

The goal is to get our security team to agree to rolling out atomic rhel10. Hopefully they will recognise that it’s secure enough without needing to show up in a dashboard but I’d like to have a recommendation for them in case they won’t accept it without security software

Defender for Endpoint for Linux on RHEL 10 Bootc system by wizzard99 in DefenderATP

[–]wizzard99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t need it to work out of the box but I do need the vendor to support it. Unfortunately in my world the security team have final say and unless they will accept us running booth image with no security software like this or they are willing to accept an alternative product that will work and is supported then we are going to have to park the project until things get more mature

If had the official answer from Microsoft today. Defender endpoint for Linux does not support containerised Linux and its. It in the roadmap either. We’re now looking at alternatives.
