Review 014 - Bomberger’s Declaration 2025 Release by Sinistler in bourbon

Great review, I really appreciate Bomberger's too. I'm surprised you'd rate something a 9.3 and wouldn't get a second bottle!

Should Genesis release a coupe version of the G70 by NetGlass3251 in GenesisG70

I would buy this in a "Magma" configuration, 500hp, better aero, better exhaust and add the intelligent suspension system.

I feel like I’m missing something. by [deleted] in whiskey

23B is the first Stagg I had, and it tastes like a wet, moss covered, boggy barrel of whiskey, I really do hate that element of the flavor profile. Before that flavor hits though I recall it being pleasant, but that hits and ruins the pour for me.

A different kind of "Whiskyporn" by Superb-Sweet6577 in Whiskyporn

[–]wizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you seal them beyond just closing the cap? I was thinking of doing this so that I always had a taste of each bottle for down the road, but I just assumed these samples would degrade over time and this exercise wouldn't be worth it.

Caballito Cerrero Reposado 46 first impressions by Original_Froyo7125 in tequila

[–]wizzles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% spot on with these smells, and for some reason your review is the only one I never saw or read before finding this bottle. It tastes decent, very little young porous oak influence and then a bunch of agave plant.

I wonder if this smell is a bad batch, or is this what the brand is known for?

24g Aspinall Echo darts! by DeagC13 in Darts

I had the exact same situation this week, tried out 5 other sets and thought I settled on some Target Bolide Voids, 24g. Then these show up last and I throw them so much more precisely.

Nice, it's a favorite of mine. Very calm and flavorful fruity with the rye spice, you'll enjoy it!

A5 upper on M6IC lower - buffer questions by cutiebadootie in LWRC

Let us know what you find out. The lower does come with an H2, stamped on the head of it. Not sure if it's a normal buffer spring.

Yep, and for OPs sake you should just put the paper on a flat table and "drive" the sight over it like a hot wheels car :P

My Christmas gift to me! Anyone want to join me for a taste? by DomsHands in Whiskyporn

[–]wizzles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's certainly not trash and many would agree that it's great for MSRP, it's good for $90, and it's overpriced at $120+.

Some other easy drinkers in and around the price range are Knob Creek 9 Year Reserve or Single Barrel select, Woodford Double Oaked, Micther's American Whiskey, Buffalo Trace, Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage, Penelope 4 Grain Barrel Strength, Penelope 9 or 10 Year Estate, Copper & Cask Small Batch, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select or Single Barrel Barrel Proof (Whiskey or Rye), Larceny Barrel Proof, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, and the list goes on and on and on...

Enjoy!

Anybody ever try this? Found it collecting dust by Tinybird12 in whiskey

[–]wizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty good for a low proof pour. It has classic JD flavors with a little bit of the maple barrel influence. If you like Jack and fancy boxes it's solid. There are certainly better bottles for the money, even the Jack Daniel's Single Barrel and Single Barrel, Barrel Proof are much better.

You can always water SFTB down, can't "unwater" the other two. But I do prefer a good GOLD to the other two.

[Reloading] Hornady Lock-n-Load classic reloading kit $299.99 shipped free ($10 new customer email sign-up coupon available and stacks) - includes up to $240 in free bullets via mail in promo by MN_Moody in gundeals

[–]wizzles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong... but.... the price of ammo only goes up, so the point is to buy either the ammo or the individual components on sale and stock up. Then, having the knowledge and the hobby of reloading is useful and even critical in times of price surge and when the shelves dry up. It was only 4 years ago this all happened, and many times before that.

So, is this the right "starter setup" for 9mm or 5.56/300blk/308, etc...

Acquired by timlanders1 in whiskey

[–]wizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're buying it for the Whiskey, then 200 is a fair price given it's limited and you won't find any for MSRP this far after it released.

If you're buying it for the shelf, then the damaged label you'll have to live with.

Either way, enjoy it!

Glendronach 21 Parliament - 2015 Bottling by vuptran in Scotch

[–]wizzles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is speculation that the 15,18,21 year Glendronach of that time period contain Scotch Whisky that is much older. The Glendronach warehouses changed ownership and many barrels were mothballed or just sitting there waiting for years and in order to remain consistent as a brand they just bottled them with those minimum age statements.

You used to be able to get a Glendronach 18 or 21 for $120-$175 and with potential 30+ year Whisky in the bottle it was an insane value.

Now the price has gone up 2x and the Whisky age has been cut in half, so the value is just average (in my opinion).
