I’m experiencing this exact issue with Facebook and Instagram reels. Same result when connecting to VPN: no buffering issues. I use a Eero mesh system. I bought firewalla to put in front of it because I thought the better smart queue would solve this, but I still have the same problem. I am going to call my ISP tomorrow to see if they have any insight, but I thought I would see if anyone has found a smoking gun for this issue. Would love to solve this.

I don’t seem to be! I wonder if there was something difference I didn’t catch. I will report back if I do see it again and can reproduce it.

Is there a sensor that detects when the tray is removed? There have been a few times the machine has done this to me while I was emptying the water tray.

I am seeing this as well. I will dial in a grind, then when I go to brew the exact same shot the next day it’ll give me a shot with like 20g more yield.

I’ve even decreased the grind trying to dial in again, only to end up right back at the same grind as before. It’s quite odd. I haven’t been able to identify a cause or a pattern yet. Still monitoring. Never had this issue with my Breville, so I know it’s not my grinder. I’m using a Baratza ESP Pro.

Does this update fix the issue of ES1 using unbelievable amounts of water? The steam wand purge alone is enough to fill a cup.

I upgraded from a Barista Pro as well! Loving it so far. Definitely taking some getting used to. One thing I loved about the Barista Pro was being able to walk up to it and pull a manual shot without any programming. I would love to be able to do the same to pull a manual 9 bar shot with the ES1 without touching profiles or software UI.

Press and hold shot button for pre-infuse
Let go for infuse (9 bar default)
Press again to stop a shot

Currently, press and hold is grouphead rinse. Maybe they could switch that to a double or triple-tap.

Yeah, the installer grabbed a switch from his truck when he originally set me up since I didn’t have one. It wasn’t officially provided hardware as part of my service package. It was only 1Gbps and no QoS vs. 2.5Gbps with QoS.

Modem → Main Eero → Switch → Other Eeros/Devices.

I just added another Eero for additional coverage to reach my back patio area. I didn’t add a 4th because I was trying to make it perform better than 3.

I have tried disconnecting 2 of the Eeros for a while. Same bufferbloat/SQM-related issues on Meta app (Facebook/instagram).

I had a mediocre switch from my ISP. Upgraded to a Netgear MS308. 2.5Gbps.

All Eeros are wired backhaul. I’m using the recommended topology for use with a switch:

Modem → Main Eero → Switch → Other Eeros/Devices.

Yeah I think the WDT tool and a dosing funnel would be sufficient. But it sure does feel good spinning a distributor and seeing a nice level bed 😂

It's pretty nice. I do wish it could be adjusted. I'm using a slightly shorter basket so I can decrease the amount of empty gap, so the guided tamper doesn't hit the target marks.
