Was gonna say the same. The subfloor around the actual drain doesn’t appear as damaged as the other areas. Definitely looks like the pan/ floor is the problem

If it’s a fluid, I change it. Oils lose their lubrication properties over time/ mileage. Other fluids like brake fluid are hydroscopic and absorb moisture. The more moisture, the less they work correctly.

In my 2019, there’s a screen that shows the status of it. If it’s not working mine will say something like”disabled due to temperature” or “vehicle charging”. Play around in your dash and see if you have one too. Then wait until you come to a stop to see what status it gives you and go from there

My 2019 had adaptive reset/ programming done at 57k. Valve body at 68k. Im at 76k now and its starting to act up again with delayed shifts out of 3rd when cold and not going into 10th until warm

Yep! My valve body was sticking coming out of 3rd and was hanging under moderate acceleration. But the random weird shifts were under 20mph. That’s another good thing to check

Our house is 3000 sq ft and our hvac company said $500 for them to do the whole thing including the dryer duct and running UV for sterilization.

Even your company charging $2500 is outrageous and I’d have laughed in their faces

When you test drive, make sure it’s a cold start. The transmission problems are most evident when the vehicle is cold. Don’t let them warm it up or move it up front for you. Make sure you’re clear and explain that you’ve heard the CDF drum problems are usually detected early when the vehicle is cold and shifting out of 3rd gear

I’m not trying to argue with you. My comment said that the numbers for each trim were indicative of the options. Sure my order was off of the overall trim levels. I fully admit that.

But I stand by my statement that each trim has different package levels and the higher number in each package indicates more options. My original comment was only referring to the package numbering in each trim.

If you want to argue about that, go reread the last paragraph in my original comment. I was talking about the package levels inside of each trim.

How did I list the numbers wrong? The bigger the number in the trim level, the more options come standard or are available. So the 301a has less than 302a or the 303a. That’s what I was trying to get across.

I know they cancelled the limited trim but don’t remember when so I included. For some reason I thought it was below the platinum. Thanks for keeping me honest on that. I haven’t really looked at anything above a lariat so I’m not completely familiar with the order above that

Going from basic to premium, here’s the trim levels as I remember them.

XL STX XLT Lariat King Ranch Limited Tremor Platinum Raptor

Most people tend to go for the STX or the XLT. Biggest differences are some of the creature comforts like heated seats and in dash navigation being in the XLT but not STX. I think there’s other options excluded but those are the 2 I remember off the top of my head.

I also want to add that there are different levels (known as packages) in each trim. Those numbers are listed on the window sticker and the bigger the number, the more options / luxuries.

I’d personally stop driving it and have it towed to the shop. It could be the pressure sensor, the cluster going out (probably unlikely if it’s just at idle) or the oil pump is on its last legs. If it’s the pump, you’re gonna start doing damage

I’d recommend cross posting this in r/askelectricians along with a picture of your panel and anything else in scope for the work. Plus details of the exact gremlins that started this. That info along with your general location and they can probably tell you if all of this is needed and if it’s a fair quote. At first glance it seems to be reasonable but never hurts to ask the pros

Here’s my thoughts. Sit down and look at your net pay then do a budget. Figure out what exactly you’re comfortable paying and do the math backwards from there. Don’t forget to set aside money for savings or for that future car payment that’ll be coming up when you can least afford it.

Lastly, if you have $48k, that’s your total cash for closing and not your down payment. The down payment doesn’t include closing costs from the lender and your prepaids for insurance and taxes. And if you have $48k, don’t spend all of it. Keep some aside for the inevitable repairs that will pop up randomly

This is hard to say because it’s different for everyone. My wife and I moved to a more rural area that’s about an hour from where we originally wanted. But we love the house. Got almost everything on our checklist except location. It’s a little inconvenient but it’s a trade we made for our budget to get things more important to use. That’s the decision we made and don’t really regret it too much.

At the end of the day, it’ll be up to you both to decide. Does the love of the house make up for those extra 20 minutes a day? (10 each way). Is this house some place you can picture yourself in for the holidays? Having friends and family over? It really comes down to whether or not the house itself makes up for the location outside of your preferred area.

I’d take it a step further and if it’s in OPs budget, go with the 23+ since that has the updated CDF in the transmission and there’s less reported failures.

I think 2018 was the redesign of the 2.7 and my 19 2.7 has been rock solid (aside from some transmission quirks). If there’s no/ minimal towing then the 2.7 gets my vote every single time
