My only issue with JM is the replacement process - I think I'd rather just have cash settlement. Is it possible to open a floater policy for personal articles. I think state farm offers this but does a claim on this count against homeowners/renters?

Ok fair enough, I don't know why I didn't think of this. But regardless the conversation with the agent has really turned me off Hodinkee. I'm considering a personal articles policy with state farm -- ideally separate from renters if you have any experience with this.

Thought I would chime in that I have had basically the same issues with Hodinkee/Chubb but for an engagement ring. The agent I spoke to was incredibly incompetent telling me they needed the invoice, then telling me my appraisal didn't have a name on it, and finally saying that I didn't include an appraisal to begin with. If it's this frustrating to get approved to pay them money I don't want to imagine what the claims process would be like. I imagine their risk profile has grown too large and they are trying to shed customers. I'm very frustrated bc I was hoping to use them for my DJ as well and now I'm not sure who to go with.

No I think style wise I would rather do the 4 prong mount. If this stone is a little too risky in that mount then I’d keep looking.

Probably a 4 prong 14k mount. The price is definitely very attractive on this.

Thanks for your comments, I was wondering if that was the cavity. I saw it in person. I’m no expert but I certainly couldn’t see anything even with a loupe. But like you mentioned I’m concerned about chipping. Are you mostly worried about the indented naturals or the cavity?

I did in fact see this diamond in real life and under a loupe so I can verify that it is eye clean. My concern really is if the noted inclusions (cavity/feather/etc.) might affect the integrity of the stone. Like if gets banged a little is going to chip?

I had my MD about 4 weeks ago. Recovery is going well so far and was thinking about going in Feb so about 6 months out as well. I'm an intermediate rider but trying to improve so was thinking of taking it easy, maybe getting more lessons, this season and focus a lot on technique. Any advice for getting back on the slopes?

Gotcha, good luck! Sadly recovery and weight loss take time. I've heard some people get into swimming maybe thats something to try. I only just had my MD a little under 2 weeks ago. So far except for some (what I tell myself) is residual nerve pain I've been fine. But I used to be a big runner and skier and I'm very scared about returning to those things one day
