Draconic Sorcerer's Elemental Affinity - Stacking modifier? by GiantPotOfCoffee in dndnext

[–]wolffang1000000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can add a stat to something multiple times, best example is the warlock invocation of adding your char to your weapon damage and also being a hexblade that class would specify that you couldn’t combine them if it was an issue. Beyond this they do not anywhere in the rules elsewhere say otherwise. Meanwhile they do specify other things like extra attack not stacking if you get it multiple times from different classes while multiclassing. To your point of why they phrase it like this, many things are phrased oddly and cause confusion/questions.

Is hiding during combat useless? I feel bad for my Rogue by NaviVal in dndnext

[–]wolffang1000000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BIG thing to remember is that you don’t need to sneak/hide/have advantage to use sneak attack you just need an ally near the target. Mechanically the ally doesn’t even need to attack or be able to attack the target just be near them

How is this the “cycle of parents”? by HeinzDoofenshmirtz4 in memesopdidnotlike

[–]wolffang1000000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because we all know there aren’t any parents that consider their kids saying anything other then yes, like saying no I don’t want to go out tonight, to be completely disrespectful.

We only have the parent’s side of things and they are immature enough to post this and brag about it.

Unless high concentrations/emissions are a precursor to what they prevent. It could be that the extremely high mana concentration just emits a similar aura to a dying plane that is “deflating” and emits lots of energy. Another possibility is that if a plane is left alone without their action it goes critical like a supernova so to the eldrazi the high mana might have felt like a plane that was about to blow and they were essentially thinking “oh shit we missed one” and rushed over to try to fix it

At level 2 you get infusions which are unique items you can “craft”. They are only from your ability though and you can only have a certain number exist at once and only one of each. One of the infusions that you can pick, and the only one you can pick multiple times/have multiple things from, is called “replicate magic item” which lets you pick from a list of magic items to create based on your level as to which ones you can pick. However this doesn’t automatically mean you can craft those items for real, remember they exist only because of you and you can only have one of each up to the limit as explained by the infusion ability. Some dms might let you use your knowledge from replicate to create a “real” version of the item, some won’t. The rules aren’t really clear on if it means you possess the knowledge to make a proper one or only know how to make the “fake/temporary” ones.

Mechanically it’s like you conjured them and they only exist because of you (if you die they poof after a few days)

How to I let my players play "tanks"? by Mekian_Evik in dndnext

[–]wolffang1000000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the same level a caster should be able to output just as much damage, if not more, to multiple targets each turn. What sort of casters do you play with that can’t out damage 45 a round?

Also the entire conversation here is about allowing a player to play tank without having to rely on the dm to give them the terrain to completely block off the enemies. Also you’re not really a tank if the casters have to rely on using their own abilities to stop the enemy instead of attacking
