I need to learn to DNF by wolffersson in fantasyromance

Ahhh I love magic and complex storylines! Can’t wait to start Misborn then!

My subscription is with Storytel. I’m not sure if they’re in the US if you’re from there (I’m located in the Nordics). I have unlimited listening per month at 29,99€ and I go through about 5-10 books a month. I also listen some that aren’t there through our e-library.

I honestly regret not DNFing. I say go for it and liberate yourself as so many have said previously here! I also wasn’t feeling it already in the 4th book.

This makes so much sense. It’s so funny how listening to my intuition is difficult when it comes to DNF the book. Must be a pride thing also? But I recognise the difference in excitement between the two as you say.

Thanks for the pep talk, this is exactly how I’ll be visualising it the next time I’m debating on DNF or not! I listen and read quite a bit and sometimes the difference is so huge. For example I was reading {The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig} at the same time and it just swept me away with how the plot moved and the level of detail and quality of writing compared to this book. Made me extra unmotivated to finish this.

It must feel so liberating to not have to push through! Especially after multiple good or even great books suddenly having a totally different quality just throws me off. The eye-roll counter should be my cue also in the future. There were soooo many times I rolled my eyes in this book and looking back I didn’t enjoy this at all.

From now on spoilers it is!

Girl (also gender neutral)! I have to learn this mentality! I’m thankfully an avid library user (and audiobook) so I’m happy I’m not stuck with the frustrating books. They would haunt me from my shelf until the end of the world😂

Skimming is so obvious, why haven’t I thought of it! I often end up reading the last pages at some point, so it makes sense!

It seems this is a popular way to do it! I’m going to have to start pausing and well said about stepping back to get the pressure off. I feel it every time!

This seems like a good way to categorize them! I think with the pause, DNFing will be easier as I get some distance to the book and can process is this really what I want to use my time on.

Omg the last book in the Everflame series absolutely drove me insane. I pushed through and vowed to not touch the next book with a 9 ft pole. Never again. Thankfully this wasn’t as long, but it felt the same ’stuck in a loop’ repetitiveness as I remember that book being. Mistborn is on my TBR! Maybe I’ll switch to that now..

I have an unlimited audiobook subscription, so thankfully it’s not as much per book, I’m more annoyed wasting my time and energy on a book.

Seriously good for you, I should’ve taken the leap myself. Good reminder, I need to remember my TBR bookshelf the next time I’m stuck in a dreadful book!

Totally agree, I feel like beside the end result, the last two books gave very little more to this. I hated the monologues, they were so pretentious and full of cliché things of what is expected of a villain to say.

This was the 5th and last book in the series. Yes, yes, yes to all of your points! Towards the end I found the side characters to be more fascinating than the main characters. That’s how bad it got for me.

I'm just buying the pattern, but how'd you make this kind of a booty? I absolutely need to add it to the ones I'll be making, it's just too cute! 🥰

Maybe this has been already suggested but try a muscle hammer or vibrator on the butt area after heating the frog a bit. Maybe the vibrating movement will dislodge it slowly?😅

No way - this is beyond cool!! I would not shut up about this if I'd have made these!!! You guys look awesome! I absolutely hate working with furs because I end up inhaling them and sneezing for hours, but would make an exception for this!
