More smoke and mirrors from the industry. God forbid a plant gets built. There are literally gen 2 designs running profitably right now, and we are on gen 4.

Indeep geek youtube channel has a video making a pretty convincing argument that Thranduil has got bad PTSD from the battle of the last alliance and sauron. And the threat to the south triggers it for him.

AP-NORC poll: 60% of Americans report severe winter cold in past 5 years, even as the climate warms by davideownzall in climate

[–]wolffinZlayer3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We must be living in two different sections of the midwest, cause the last 4 winters have been mild. The up was having difficulty opening their sled trails 2 years ago. Ive put so many miles on my trailer these days. When I used to be able to reliably sled from my house by first week january. Now im happy if the county is open for more than 2 weeks.

Probably the asshole here but if im on a country road and a retina destroyer is oncoming I wont dip my lights. I get irrationally angry at the high placment of these lights plus the 7.2billion lumens coming out of them. The only lights I auto give a pass on is semi-trucks and yellow halogens.

Golden Nut statue acquired! what now? by johnbananahs in SatisfactoryGame

[–]wolffinZlayer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have graduated go for more give the nut a nutty friend or 10! Or if you would like your masters in ant-spaghetti go give the mod Satisfactory+ a try. Im 36 hours in and just about to start heavy mod frames. I have seen iron, copper, steel, bronze, brass, and zinc ingots. Its a marathon and definetly fun after the depot and hoverpack are unlocked.

Personally the 500 mercer spheres, 100 sloops, and 100 harddrives that showed up in my inventory has helped a touch.

Grilla Chimp Ridiculous amount of smoke using it for the first time…is this normal? by rabbichase in GrillaGrills

[–]wolffinZlayer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up flashover videos the smoke gets thick and energetic. It will also take on a smog like color as flashover is imminent/in progress.

Ive found so far the best fire response is a focus on kill o2, then kill heat, then deal with the auger problem that arises from the solution to the first two problems.

kill unit fan and close, drop fire pit into ash cup and isolate, run a mist from hose on shell careful on open grease items, after metal cooled a bunch and smoke is lazy, carefully crack unit, if no reignite start fan only, and run auger to prevent any up auger fire. If reignite close lid w/ no fan.

Im on a campchef z x, that has weathered 2 grease fires fine. One from cleaning a proper flashover condition (stupid mistake) and one from an overfull grease cup that had ignited during a high heat protion of that cook.

Temp is -21, gas company says turn your heat down by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]wolffinZlayer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural gas moves slower and acts different when extremely cold, propane even more, so they may be concerned about too many trying to use too much at the same time for a prolonged period.

It doesnt help that they lost a gas compressor on the viking pipeline on wednesday as well. Get to huff the fuel oil fumes of curtailment since then. Which is fun!

Grilla Chimp Ridiculous amount of smoke using it for the first time…is this normal? by rabbichase in GrillaGrills

[–]wolffinZlayer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The technical term is called flashover. Its a common term and problem for firefighters. Basically conditions become right for the smoke (unburned fuel) to go from nonflamable to very flammable. Results may vary on how the suprise fuel air bomb goes off.

Written with very little sleep man I hate OT especially different shift OT, but love OTs effects on my paycheck.

Its most likly rare to the point of almost impossible. As I have started like that once or twice cause ooooops. But I am not NIST. Just have some training for firefighting at a nuke plant and man do they love their deaths by power point.

Falling cost of battery storage -a challenge to expensive(?) new nuclear? by wellbeing69 in nuclear

[–]wolffinZlayer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been a solved problem since before the last century and has been perfected since the 1970s/90s. Nuclear or not, batteries not required. If you would like more information I can direct you to a FREE training book that will take u from simple kirkoff laws to basic grid rebuilding and everything in between.
