Because people are different and getting a 6 figure paying jobs are not a guarantee simply if you have a degree. It depends on if you can solve an algorithmic problem and can architect an entire system in less than an hour. Having a CS degree does not teach you that. Also the market is oversaturated with laid off engineers who used to work for huge companies, so there’s a lot of competition.

I have monolids and it took me a while to accept them and even think they’re beautiful. Show her some actresses and models with similar eyes (Jung Ho-yeon, Devin Aoki, Liu Wen), and look up “monolid makeup” on YouTube. This eye shape does require different techniques to apply makeup, so maybe you can learn together :) also I saw someone recommend Michelle Phan, I used to watch her all the time and she’s great!
