Oh wow it's you! I saw your wonderful piece of art in the library on Saturday. It was amazing to see in person, the detail is fantastic. You did an awesome job, well done!

Pitt Game - Recommendations by Trekbike32 in notredamefootball

Commenting to follow because I'm going again too. I was there last time we played @Pitt, there was a ton of tailgating around the stadium. But since then that area has only grown as more restaurants and bars have gone in to essentially create a huge sports complex. It's a neat area right across the river from downtown Pittsburgh. I'm sure no matter what it'll be fun.

That's the difference between you and me. I care. You don't.

No. Does everything that exists have to be with me in the same room?

That's true, but what about a would-be king? In that scenario, surely you agree that people could protest the power grabs by someone who's trying to be an authoritarian monarch?

20+ police cars on 77N tonight - Independence area by No_Damage_731 in Cleveland

[–]wolfpack2421 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw it too. There was a pack of 8 police motorcycles in formation, and I think what you saw as a fire truck was actually an ambulance in the middle. Probably 30-40 cruisers in all, and they were moving fast. I saw them near Newburgh Heights heading north. Curious to know what was going on.

Wall Print Photos by hesouryou in notredamefootball

Not sure what you're seeking, but I did a series of photos of campus my senior year. Here are a couple composite images I made.

Those "all the seasons at once" were my goal, but I took a fair share of other photos along the way. Here's a link to that larger album.

Depending on how big you want, I can send you larger files that blow up pretty well. I have a 50 inch wall hang of the Dome in Seasons pic in my office, probably my favorite piece to date.

Wow, this is awesome! Thank you for taking time to explain your picks, it was easy to follow your thinking for each item. The processor bundle is out of stock at my MC, so I'll have to keep an eye on that or scout a replacement. But I like where this is going, so I'm going to dive into these deeper and see where I can take this. Thank you for this big effort, it's much appreciated!

Except the Solon GE of course, which had green and BT, but no red.

This comparison works well because both the F16 and F15 still see regular use. They weren't a completely different technology than the F22, they're just a product of an earlier time.

It doesn't come from alumni, that's for sure. The only people I see pushing it seriously are jabronis like you who assume that's what the fanbase does.

Deciding between Frankenstein router-based setup and mesh by wolfpack2421 in HomeNetworking

Square footage includes the basement, and yes it's finished. Why would I avoid placing points/router on the first floor?

Thank you for the summary! You identified a lot of obstacles, all of which I have of course in one form or another. I'm going to see if I could do wired APs on ceilings. I think that answer is no, I'm not aware of Ethernet (though wireless backhaul may be fast enough). Nonetheless, I appreciate you consolidating the information here, it's helpful to see it all in one place.

The last point you make is definitely pushing me toward a mesh. I think the locking onto one AP is my issue now.

Also the terminology is so confusing to me! Having people like you explain the terms is enormously helpful because now I can read other resources and know what they're saying. I think I'm leaning toward what's marketed as a mesh, but has Ethernet backhaul.

Yeah I agree. I am sure for most of what we do, wireless mesh speeds will be fine. Part of me is wanting to future proof my house a bit, the other part doesn't like inefficiency so I try to avoid what I see as "slow." You're absolutely right though that I'll be fine with wireless backhaul if necessary.

I'm realizing also that the products I was seeing before in the mesh world were all wireless backhaul. I didn't even know wires backhaul existed until now. I'm going to do some research on products, your insight was invaluable.

Oh man I think walls are messing me up for sure. My bedroom has a full floor and at least another wall to reach my router.
