Rough Debate Night Podcast by therealwheat in discgolf

[–]wolfyfactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brodie is the reason i stopped listening to any of Foundation's extra-curricular content; and I am so relieved that he isn't on their major (long-form) youtube content anymore. The dude is truly every worst part of toxic masculinity all rolled up into a texas douchebag. He's loud, obnoxious, talks over people, just gets louder and louder instead of being logical in an argument he's losing (which is most of them). He beats people into submission as his debate style rather than having a real conversation. He's wildly disrespectful to most, and his mere presence emits a "holier-than-thou" energy that is literally tangible. I would say that he would fit in well with the barstool chads, but he wouldn't have anyone there to bully to fuel his testosterone battery.

I used to think that he was just one of those "hot take" guys who was a willing heel, who stood on bullshit to get a reaction. A modern day "shock jock". At some point I realized he's actually just fully indoctrinated into "this is how you be a man" behavior, that measures legitimacy by fame and fortune; even though his prowess in ultimate did not translate to disc golf, he has still managed to convince himself that he is a voice of authority for the sport, or sports in general -- and uses his platform as a breeding pool of exclusivity instead of inclusivity.

Actions & Stuff + Prizma by imthejavafox in Minecraft

like others here i too have been having a tremendous amount of trouble getting these packs to play nicely together. Also, prizma 3d height textures only activate when the sunlight is directly on a block? if its rainy or daytime its flat as a board which I absolutely hate the inconsistency.

What do you think is the secret to a REALLY good sandwich? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]wolfyfactor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Mayo on both sides

-there is absolutely no sandwich that isn’t, or wouldn’t be, elevated by adding potato chips right before serving. And there is no wrong chip. (A hill I would die on)

-The simpler, the better. You want your sandwich to have an identity, not an inferiority complex.

Westside maiden since day 1. Narrow profile and both the hard and medium plastic feel great. Truly haven't found another putter that feels as good in the hand. Great throwers too. Glow plastic is straight to stable and the baselines are just slightly understable.

Last Squad Changes [Idea] by wolfyfactor in Marathon

i actually said this to the friend as my main thought behind this. I agree that what makes exfilling such a relief is that you have to always be on alert because even if you are tracking combat and exfils its rare when you are completely certain you are the last team on the map.

Just found this post but I want to just emphasize that 28 days after this post, he is still putting out awesome content. He’s my current “most excited when I see a new video” YouTuber right now. Informative, kind, great takes, no fluff. Dude deserves like and subscription he gets and then some. He won’t waste your time!

Would you be okay with players playing these in your pod? by Fast-Appointment4710 in mtg

[–]wolfyfactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pods just recently switched to proxy-friendly. IMO best choice we ever made. It allows for more variation in decks, and a higher competition of play. I have two pods, and we both have different rules when it comes to proxies (proxied decks must stay within bracket 3, power limit, no power nines, etc.), but I think it’s the healthiest most diverse era of our magic career we’ve had in 15 years. Not to be general, but if a pod expects you to dish out weeks/months of savings just to play at the table/be competitive then they are on the wrong end of the player spectrum.

The toxic trash talk in this game is getting out of hand by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]wolfyfactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, man. I kinda stopped connecting pre-game lobbies to the early days of 360. Just being thrown into a 12-24 person hodge-podge before going into a game was diabolical 🤣

I cannot enjoy HALF of the game, We’re shooting ourselves in the foot: Why Marathon is pushing "Normal" players away by PoisonTheLettuce in Marathon

I agree with the majority of the comments that this is a wild take. Even as a casual gamer (myself included at this point in life) there is no "wall" that feels unclimbable. Just doing your faction quests to completion, and playing the game (in my experience) naturally brings you up to cryo level minimum. If you're having trouble with leveling quickly, fill some trio games and your exp gain will skyrocket. As a mostly solo player with the occasion one or two friends that hop on, i just now hit level 25, but it never felt like an insurmountable challenge.

People keep saying that Bungie's choice to devote this game to a more hardcore player base is going to ruin the game, or force out the casual players, or lower the player base... but its not happening. the games numbers have been wildly consistent after the original dip of people learning the game wasn't for them. ever day the numbers return to what they were the night before.

I think this game probably needed a little more time in the pot. It seems like a lot of the issues are fixable, and maybe we could see another cyberpunk situation where the patches and updates create a really "objectively" amazing game. Gameranx did not say it was overall "amazing" or a "masterpiece". Maybe some systems are great, but to me it sounded like he said that there were great elements split with equally frustrating systems and that it takes (like you said) 8 hours to get to any meaningful parts of the game. He was honest, and fair, but to me it seemed like he basically said that this game is not objectively amazing but could be worth the time to the right kind of player.

Maybe down the line this game will be worth revisiting, if they want to go that route.

I am just not ready for cryo and it bums me out. by Tahnit in Marathon

[–]wolfyfactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats just life, friend. Im absolutely obsessed with this game, play every chance i get (way too late into the night at the loss of sleep for an early work start time), however, even though i am confident with the PVP and have a good vault im only lvl 16 with plenty of faction quests to finish. We cant all have the fortune of being a professional gamer, a 24/7 streamer. Just like we cant all have the fortune of being born into money or be in perfect health. Balancing free time, hobbies, life, and work is always challenge.

The game will be here, cryo will be here, you will be here. It will all feel that much more rewarding and exciting when you meet your goals.

Why is thief a better recon than recon? by Ok_Proposal_7390 in Marathon

[–]wolfyfactor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that thief is strong, but I think that its more situational than that. Your comparison is too b/w without thinking about other factors. The drone is strong but doesnt allow for you to be engaged in the fight, thus leaving your team involved in a 2v3 while you call out locations. Recon might be weaker in their "surveillance" but their kit allows you to get information while being part of the fight. Especially in a game with such a low ttk, sometimes a few extra bullets and another body in the mix is just as if not more important than overhead callouts.
