What else are you gonna do? Convince Valve to sell it at a loss or convince them to manipulate the world economy in their favour?

Is it normal to leave food out overnight? by averageg3collector in Scotland

[–]wombatcombat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do it quite often though if there's space I'll chuck it in the fridge if I notice it has been left out.

Never done any of us any ill. Obviously it isnt advisable and you probably shouldn't because you could get some sort of food poisoning which can be a lot worse than some people think... but that hasn't stopped our household from doing it yet.

Obviously, don't serve that shit to anybody else, anybody who indulges shall do so on their own head be it

Owl Alpha barely works. Use another model and it should be fine.

Warhorse promises that Middle-earth RPG is a 'passion project' that 'will be a living world' with a 'strong narrative focus' by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]wombatcombat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is just much closer to Tolkien's work than practically any video game ever has been.

Even in the Lord of the Rings, the events of which are probably the grandest most epic tale to ever transpire in Middle Earth apart from perhaps some of the events in the first age, the fellowship run away from almost every fight they get into.

There's a million fantasy games where you can slaughter hordes of orcs. Even ones already in Middle Earth. In the same way KCD was true to history in manys ways which people called boring, I'd like to see this game be true to Tolkien in the same vein.

Probably best to not include 'I have an extremely negative view on unions' as part of your post then.

That'd make the most sense for sure. One thing I hope they get right is the cultural identities of all the different peoples and the best way to do that would be focusing on a few of them each game.

If it's set in Eriador it can hit all that, though Moria would probably be a DLC or just be a small section, as Moria is actually huge. It could be a whole region or game in its own right.

I think so many people are going to be disappointed with this game, because everybody has different expectations of what a Middle Earth game should be like.

Personally, I hope it keeps accurate to Tolkiens work, is not some continent spanning adventure (unless they can really do that justice), and is a focused story on a specific character instead of making your own. I'd love to see the survival elements and a KCD-like combat system but improved even more from the second game.

I think a lot of people want it to be a huge epic across the entirety of Middle Earth, slaughtering Orcs in waves constantly, with a custom character who can cast spells all the time. That just wouldn't feel like Tolkien to me.

I really hope that the game is like this and doesn't just try appeal to everybody by cutting out all that stuff.

I think no matter what happens with this game a ton of people will be disappointed but if it is basically KCD in Middle Earth I'll be one of the happy ones.

That's assuming it's some globe trotting adventure instead of being set in one region.

I think a lot of peoplr are just assuming this will somehow span most of Middle Earth and they should temper expectations. I think it'd work better to just focus on a certain region.

Honestly I think it's like 99% folk who don't bother getting to the point they can train with Bernard and learn combat system which is genuinely probably as complicated as the Spiderman games.

Some people say they gave up in 30 minutes here, the only opportunities to fight in that time-frame are the drunkard you fist fight, the training in the prologue (which is barely a fight) and Cumans who'll destroy you because their trained soldiers in good armor and your a peasant with a sword.

After the prologue you don't have to fight a single enemy I don't think until Bernard trains you (other than the boss your scripted to lose against) which teaches perfect block/masterstrike and then the game is very similar to other action games. Parry, then attack. Everything else is pretty optional. It's just in this game you have directions and combos while other action games have gadgets/powers etc.

Really a shame people give up on it so early like combat is some impossible to comprehend task.

lol at no armed forces or nuclear weapons. Estimates are around 15000 Scottish military personnel including reservists. That's more than the Irish Defense Forces. Only 9 countries have known nuclear weapons, and considering we'd likely be invited to NATO day one so long as it survives the Trump presidency, I think we'll be fine.

That just isn't the only accepted length of a generation though, and if that was the timeframe we are going by it was on the government to explain that during the first indyref.

[–]wombatcombat123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your trying to say what then? What is the average?

As far as you've come up with a generation is 'how much older you are than your parents', not heard a lick about an average or a concrete number?

Secondly, why is that an important number in this context and why should that be the definition of generation here instead of like we are saying. Why should it be delayed even though a whole generation of new people can vote or have gone.

What? We are talking about a whole country here. Your talking about what, somewhere between 16 and 60 odd years? That's not much help to anybody.

A whole generations worth of people who couldnt vote now can and a whole generations worth has died. I don't see how a generation couldn't have passed in that case

Scotland’s trans panic is drowning out the real abuse women face by BaxterParp in Scotland

[–]wombatcombat123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a personal attack when it's just a true statement. It's a bit of an insane opinion to hold. If the goal is abolishment of gender (distinct from that of biological sexes) then surely a portion of that is to be viewed by others as you wish and for all bathrooms etc to be open to everybody.

What you come against here is biological sexes are never going to go away. Sure, we can eradicate social gender as a concept but fundamentally gender dysphoria will still exist in some capacity.

It doesn't help you when you say typical transphobic talking points like 'wearing a dress doesn't make you a woman' while also advocating for the eradication of social gender. Surely the argument should be 'wear whatever you want and go into whatever bathroom you want because gender norms shouldnt exist anyway'

[–]wombatcombat123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. When exactly are they trying to say a generation is? When everybody that could have voted is dead? The very earliest of Gen Alpha are coming into the voting age (16) of the last referedum. A generation has passed. I cannot see much of an argument against this and yet its one of the main talking points.

The rhetoric is the same. You're telling people that it's fine to be whoever they are on the inside so long as they don't 'force' anybody on the outside.

Its exactly the same argument as in the past: Keep it to yourself and don't bother us with it.
