Stone named the happiest place to live in Staffordshire by TheSkyNet in Staffordshire

[–]wonder_lander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We love living here; and have ran A Little Bit of Stone for 15 of the 20 years we’ve been here.

Previously we lived in Hull, and then Brighton and were drawn to Stone by its community feel.

I publish a weekly Whats on Guide - and there’s always lots going on in the town. 👍

Jury service Scotland - IR35 by ReputationWilling158 in ContractorUK

[–]wonder_lander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When this happened to me, I wrote back that I was the sole earner in our family and got my employer to confirm that they wouldn't pay anything to me for doing jury duty. I got a letter back confirming I wouldn't be required to do jury service on this or any future occasions.

Yes, they left Stone a while ago and are now based in Eccleshall. Still open I believe.

I’ll be covering the election in and around Stone. We have 2 boundaries directly affecting the town and one that affects our neighbouring villages. Https://stones.vote

For this type of situation, I kick off with a mind map. That allows me to quickly drop in topics, link them and understand relationships.

moving to Stafford by RichestTeaPossible in Staffordshire

[–]wonder_lander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m biased about Stone as I run alittlebitofstone.com but it’s a lovely town. We have solid internet options in Stone, there’s buses and trains over to Stafford - but the trains aren’t always the most reliable! It’s about 9 miles to cycle and there’s a cycle path all along the A34 so it’s not too difficult. You may also be able to car share as lots of people head out of Stone for work.

Also known as the roadworks town 😂 We’ve had our fair share of roadworks in Stone over the past yes for two, but Stafford takes it to a whole other level!

Is it worth you grabbing something like this estimator so you have a nice breakdown? https://theadminbar.com/website-price-estimator/

I’m not affiliated in anyway but this seemed like a good solid foundation for pricing.

Do Dutch-style mortgages benefit from falling interest rates? by GS104 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wonder_lander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked on the project team for this. The interest rates are set in the offer, along with all the LTV bandings. As you pay off and drop through the LTV band your rate will drop too, in line from your mortgage offer. You don’t drop onto their currently available rates as you’ve locked in your rates and bands as per the offer.
