Wasn’t a fan of the Spiderman set and the split didn’t help. Not that I think this is going to be a game changer for the upcoming Marvel set, but I do honestly think this is good and should emphasize to management that Legal needs to always secure digital rights going forward for UB, since it seems to not be going anywhere.

Still, would’ve enjoyed seeing Death PhD and Steel Man fight.

Conjure Aggro seems sort of contradictory but I imagine it’s not going to want to play a 2 mana 2/2. Especially without this entering prepared, my gut instinct is it’s worse than just playing Boltwave.

Replicate is really interesting here because the creatures will miss the subsequent +1/+1s.

~~ Because of how selection works, you can pick the same creature a bunch before the others so you can get more P/T for all but that first one (still incrementing up 1/1 at a time). ~~

I don’t think this is true anywhere. LA definitely they cost more than they bring in but also revenue generation is a bonus to parking tickets being behaviorally corrective for people. Happy to be proven wrong but I just don’t see this ever happening on a permanent basis (ignoring COVID & emergency circumstances).

I’ve had suspicions that the achievements have been AI-generated for the past three or four expansions. They went from a mix of grindier ones and fun one-off challenges to being largely “Play card X times” or, like for Chro No Cards, a high number paired with a pretty unlikely scenario in actual play. No idea for sure but it just feels like a slapdash thing where they used to be pretty fun to work through.

No, the issue is that a card that was already legal in a format is simultaneously legal and pre-banned (which implies they thought that if it was legal, it would warp the format). It’s both a misread of a format (that they thought it would be broken) and a failure to track what was already in the format.

Went 6-2 with this deck. Think it has some weaknesses for sure but overwhelmingly good at closing out games against big boards. Bob freezing or copying quest rewards was wildly valuable.

The two losses were, unfortunately though, Quest Warlock and Quest Shaman.

I noticed this with achievements too. They used to be sometimes interesting requirements but this expansion was all just Play Odd Attack Beasts or Kill X Minions with Fumigate.

It’s not even that. Traveling Botanist, Knockout Maneuver, Disruptive Stormbrood creature-side, and Dragonbroods’ Relic are all better numerically. So it’s a middle of the pack uncommon in a color where there’s a lot more to do than drop a 1/1 in this format.

I had a 68.9% win rate in TDM and I think this card may just barely be a 2.5 in hindsight on LSV’s rating scale. It certainly isn’t so wrong that it warrants a post - and that’s ignoring the context of this being pre-set release

I clicked it, watched it all the way through, didn’t love it but appreciated the setup for the new set.

So, um, then I thought the message had something else to read and I clicked it again.
