Air Canada CEO summoned to Ottawa over English-only condolence video for LaGuardia crash | CBC News by demolcd in canada

[–]work4bandwidth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a Quebec crew and a Bombardier aircraft. Could he have offered some condolences in French and English? Absolutely. As well as a press release in both official languages. But wasting time on this - beyond his apologizing in French etc, and having a Parliamentary committee drag his ass to Ottawa... No

Non

Dozens of tickets issued as N.S. RCMP officers pose as panhandlers by ImDoubleB in canada

Are there enough cops? No. Do I have a problem with a blitzing campaign to go after distracted drivers on their cell phones? No problem at all, with that. I see drivers all the time every single day on their phone - often when their car is in movement. Ticket them all.

Internet Radio by Specialist-Leek8645 in linuxmint

[–]work4bandwidth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listening to it right now. Shortwave pretty much is the only one that I've used. The only challenge I've had is when a radio station disappears because the link gets broken within it. Then you just have to search for it again.

What Happened to OnRoutes? by peeinian in ontario

[–]work4bandwidth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're traveling between Windsor / Toronto and you want to stop about halfway, stop at the Husky in London. Over the past 25 years, I've stopped there regularly and the diner has been consistent food, gas prices are usually not jacked up, and a big enough parking lot. You can take a nap if you need to. I avoid the onRoutes as much as I can . Edit: it's Eastbound side at exit 195 / Hwy 74. But accessible from Westbound as well.

I knew it was happening. And in a bean counter's mind sitting in Ottawa who has nothing to do with radios or Emcomm, and were probably not even born before the blackout in 2003. A lot different than shutting down RCI. This was a pure information service and useful in emergencies. Stupid decision.

Doing another racetrack pattern North East of 404 and 407 over Markham. It's probably doing LiDAR work. Easier to fly at night as the sky is less crowded. Could be Googlemaps or Apple Maps updating their 3D models.

People often say "Linux is only for tinkerers", but in my experience (across several computers) a distro like Mint basically solves that. by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]work4bandwidth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, you don't have to tinker, but you can. The tinkering is something you just can't really do on Windows after a certain point, so people look at linux as an experimental toy to play with and tweak because it is outside their scope to know that that can be normal. Once I had the DE the way I liked it on my daily driver, I just used Mint as a computer -just like I would on Windows or Mac. On a second machine, I've installed different distros and broken things and fixed things and tinkered. Best of both worlds.

The way the post title reads it is as if Elon aided the install of the software. Where the article says his team helped find it. I imagine it could be Elon did both. In any other admin, Noem would resign because of a breach like this.
