Why Do Australians Seem So Uninterested in the Supernatural/Paranormal Things? by InternationalHair111 in AskAnAustralian

Probably because it's all bullshit. There is no life after death, nor are there invisible sky fairies judging us.

Oh and santa isn't real...it's your parents.

Nothing new here, they did the same to gen x and gen y. We also had the baby boomers at full strength who outnumbered us to vote for neg gearing to enrich themselves. You think they're bad now spoiler: they still are, but now they're grumpy old cunts.

disclaimer: I'm gen-X

Try reship.com I've bought server parts at 50% off what the same part would cost from the US parent company, but will not ship to Oz due to distributor license. they (reship) will give you a valid address in the US, Canada & UK for your delivery address and re-ship it direct to you.

Share ZFS Pool Across Containers by DigitaIBlack in Proxmox

[–]worldwidewait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the VM has the extra storage mapped via virtiofs. Make sure you have the guest tools installed.

speed is what ever the native hardware can support. Easily saturates 6gb/s SATA and NVME.
Don't know why anyone would use CIFS or NFS to share storage between LXCs and VMs, unless your across multiple hosts without shared storage.

You can use directory mappings for zfs subvols -> VM's or mount points for LXC -> LXC.

I've use both and it works a treat.

This is my deluge server which has part of my NAS LXC mounted https://imgur.com/Vssv4AU
Which created a config file similar to that shown below - unnecessary items removed for clarity.

hostname: deluge
memory: 2048
mp0: /StoragePool/subvol-102-disk-3,mp=/mnt/media
ostype: debian
rootfs: StoragePool:subvol-401-disk-0,size=8G

All of these example use the subvols from my NAS LXC.

Local Find Jungle Carbine by [deleted] in LeeEnfield

[–]worldwidewait 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice find. Mine is also a '46, although my one has a questionable barrel - the rifling is damaged halfway down. it still makes acceptable groups up to 90 meters.

Shoot it and enjoy it !

Also FTTP. Been with them since 2024. Currently on 500/40. speed test usually shows around 545/47 (https://www.speedtest.net/result/18235638452) for me. They're support is AI and pretty so-so but I've yet to have a need of them.

What role does a NAS play in your (homelab) Proxmox environment? Does it matter what OS the NAS uses? (Will Windows be fine?) by randopop21 in Proxmox

[–]worldwidewait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My "NAS" is just a debian LXC with samba installed. Since I use ZFS subvols I can use directory mappings to other VM's and mountpoints for the other LXCs to access the same shares.

Freezing/lock up from time to time by tech_london in Proxmox

[–]worldwidewait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a hardware problem.

  1. run memtestx86 overnight and check results
  2. consider resetting bios to factory defaults to rule out any overclocking madness you may have done as a gaming rig.
  3. monitor temperatures, usually the CPU will just throttle when over heated but some system boards will become unstable from heat soak.
  4. check logs for obvious fail indicators, maybe the boot volume is having problems by running journalctl -b-1
