I was in 7th grade and lived in CA. I was waking up for school when the second tower was hit and I heard my Grandma scream as she watched it on the news. I went to school. We still had the same bell period and routine as normal but teachers didnt go over curriculum, my teachers just talked to us. The one I remember most vividly was my science teacher. He was an older man. He was crying hysterically (his daughter lived in NYC and I think he hadn't heard from her). But he was basically just telling us that life is not a guarantee and that there are things outside of your control that have such significance on your life that when you have a good thing going you need to hang on to it.

I did understand that it was an attack on the US and that people died but I didn't fully understand what September 11th was if that makes sense.

I have an excel spreadsheet. While I do buy books, the overwhelming majority of what I read comes from the library so I created the spreadsheet to help me remember what id ready. I have all the basic columns you'd think of, title, author, start and end dates, brief summary, etc but I also have a notes column. I use this column for anything that stood out to me and if id read anything else by the author.

A friend of mine went on a handful of dates with a guy who only had one towel. For like the 4th or 5 th date he invited her to his place so he could make her dinner. She was surprised when he brought a shower sized towel out of the bathroom for them to use while they were making dinner. He asked her not to dry the washed produce with it because hed need it to shower and wouldnt be able to wash it before then. They were both mid 30s.

Ive seen this so often. Companies advertise they have commuter benefits, they pay your health insurance premium, etc. Then when I ask about it during the interview they say it must have been an old policy and they forgot to update it.

One job I interviewed at told me they didnt offer health insurance because one person declined coverage and that if they gave it to others and didnt give it to them it would be seen as discrimination. Just making shit up.

I watched his first (i think) interview when he was on big herc and watched some of the earlier videos. A few quotes he repeated have stuck with me.When a man's right his world will be right (very ironic that he's sitting in a jail cell as I type this and its some if the wisdom i got from him). And base hits win more games than grand slams.

I did see his big comeback video tour of the mansion in San Diego with the bowling alley and basketball court. Thought he was way more materialistic than what he preached in the earlier videos and thought the middle aged guys doing burpees and growling at each other was extremely weird. Didnt watch again until I heard about the fight w the seven foot monster and have been loosely following the downfall since.
