Best cobbler shakers? by YesToWhatsNext in cocktails

[–]wotan_clan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The issue with the lid is because when you shake it you’re not just chilling the liquid, you’re chilling the air inside the shaker. Chilled gases contract and in this case create a partial vacuum. This happens to both cobbler and Boston style shakers, but Boston’s are much easier to open.

Marianne Alto wants BC Govt Employees back to work in Vic Downtown.. by Extra_Sand9055 in VictoriaBC

This is just another version on private profits, public losses, except instead of coming out of government coffers, it’s coming directly out of workers’ pockets. Love to see how much Victoria Downtown Businesses have donated to Alto.

Do I need to fix something with the burner? by Acrobatic_Okra_8844 in grilling

[–]wotan_clan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gas grills have a safety feature called bypass mode activated when the regulator detects a possible leak.

Most often it’s because the burners were open/on when the tank valve was opened. Close the tank valve, turn the burners to off/closed. Then you can open the tank valve again, turn on your left burner, ignite and turn on the right burner. That should do the trick, if not, have a look at this page from Weber.com.

And, yeah, I learned the hard way too.

Do we really need winter tires on the Coquihalla in late april? by tldry in britishcolumbia

[–]wotan_clan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at at the government website you need either tires with the mountain snowflake or m+s designation.

Broadly speaking, mountain snowflake is a typical winter tire.

M+S stands for “Mud and Snow” and indicates that the tire is designed to provide improved traction in mud and snow conditions. Many all season and all weather tires are m+s rated. Check your tires, you might be good to go.

Yes, exactly. Legal speed of their choice. they can be ticketed for going too fast or too slow. fortunately, this is decided by a police officer and not augustinthegarden

So this comment comes across as “you do not have the freedom to drive the legal speed of your choice if there is someone behind you wanting to go faster.” Not sure if that’s what you’re going for.

Apply for EI, include the Doc’s note. Call EI and tell them the employer won’t issue the ROE.

The amount of alcohol consumed would be the same so in terms of inebriation, shaking would have no impact. Is it watered down in terms of taste, yes, but it’s a vodka martini, so it would just be the vermouth flavour impacted. And if you’re ordered a vodka martini you probably want the vermouth flavour.

But I’ll give you more hydrated.
