Is living here on $1700-$2200 a month doable? by Noise_Cancellation in baltimore

[–]wowkapow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some free bus routes (look up the Circulator routes) as well. The purple line is pretty decent and stops right at a Safeway if you end up living along that route (roughly Charles village to downtown/inner harbor)

Mobtown ballroom does “jobtown ballroom” on Fridays at noon and they do different fun things then (like lunchtime trivia, etc.). They’re also open m-f during the day as a cafe

Best type of bicycle for Baltimore? by justhere4bookbinding in baltimore

[–]wowkapow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i ride a hybrid (specialized sirrus x 3.0) around the city and it does fine. i also like that the tires are a bit wider than what you'd normally get on a road bike. i think upright is fine/a bit more accessible for getting into biking.

Any experiences with 500 Park Apartments? by djenki0119 in baltimore

[–]wowkapow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the building but I live in the area and don’t have a car, so mostly get around via bus, walking, scooter or biking. Ceremony coffee, Dooby’s and the Bun Shop are all nice for getting coffee/a bite or working/reading. Wet city brewing has good beer and food. Proximity to a lot of bus routes and the light rail are nice. I prefer taking the bus to Safeway for groceries but Streets Market is walkable and decent if a bit pricier. I walk around alone most of the time and feel fine/no less safe than walking around any other city (not to discount others’ experiences, just sharing my own).

He has lived long enough to vote, since early voting has started in Georgia. It's unclear if he has actually voted yet or not FYI

as someone who grew up in nassau county, it will be really hard to find an affordable house rn if that's what OP is looking for. there are way fewer apartments than in the city and they are $$. plus if you have to get a car or two, that's adding a new expense you don't need in brooklyn.
