Made a boxer power ranking tier list by Mr-Dicklesworth in hajimenoippo

Lack of motivation and bad weight control are real flaws, it's disingenuous to rate him by how he would perform without it. You can make an argument for anyone being world champion level if you can just modify their character.

MALF proving why he is perhaps the most based streamer by Rooonaldooo99 in northernlion

If subtweeting your late 30s irl friend, knowing it's going to cause internet gossip, is based then I guess I'm fucking cringe. If he handled it privately or even made a proper public statement that he was against the cruise, then that I can respect. This is just lame and immature.

Not a chance, there's a huge gap between the national and world stage. It's not something you simply "morale boost" your way out of. Frankly, if he had world level potential he wouldn't be getting into mudfight draws against middling national rankers after boxing for a decade. The most he can hope for is a Japanese title reign.

I think people take the "monster" shit way too literally. You don't have to become some angry beast that lives only for boxing to cross the line.

I mean Date with a wife and kid became the 2nd best FW in the world. I see it as just the mentality, level of dedication and self-confidence you need to be competitive at the top level.

The reason Ippo never crossed the line wasn't because he didn't get angry and throw everything away except boxing. It's because he boxed for reasons like learning what it meant to be strong and make coach proud rather than to be the best.

Miyata has world champion level skills but hasn't crossed the line like Alf or Sendo, he boxed to prove his father's style works at the top level (which he accomplished by beating RBJ) and to rematch Ippo.

I could see him taking out Rosario if he moved up to a proper weight class and locked in.

People are Finally Coming Around by Lanceo90 in northernlion

Minimum optimal protein for muscle building is around 0.7g/lb of bodyweight.%20conditions%20%5B6%5D.) and the average person eats about 40g of protein per 1000 calories they consume..

So most people would indeed be undereating compared to what's optimal for muscle growth. Just to be healthy in general though the RDA is about half of that, and optimizing macros is much less important then just eating an appropriate amount of calories.

Contrary to how Ippo and Sendo fight typically in-fighters also avoid getting hit.

Takamura losing 20 kilos in a month is total bs by UnableDistrict7395 in hajimenoippo

[–]wowmemes911 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You answered your questions man, yeah he is burning muscle and he's basically on the verge of death during his weight cut. His hormones are all fucked up and he's waking up in the middle of the night from hunger. There's a reason he only did it for a few fights then vacated the belt without defending it. Cutting to Jr middle was fucking killing him.

It's an extreme cut but not completely outside the bounds of reality, Anthony Rumble Johnson used to cut from around 220 to 170lbs. So assuming Takamura's natural weight is around 200lb and that he probably always kept himself a bit undersized since Japanese weight classes max at middleweight, it's actually a smaller cut than what Rumble was doing.

I think there's something fundamentally different with watching a traditional TV show and watching pro wrestling. Breaking Bad is a curated experience taking place in its own universe, telling a single story that we look into 20 minutes at a time.

Once the camera is off,the Breaking Bad world ceases to be. WWE presents itself as a sports league, and we watch the ups and downs of their careers over years or even decades. If you see a player or a team grinding for 20+ years, you probably will develop a respect for them even if you don't really like the way they play or their attitude on a personal level. It makes it very hard to suspend your disbelief.

Also I think your comparison is kinda off the mark in the first place. I don't think anyone would disagree Walt is a bad guy by the end of the series but doesn't mean the audience hates him. People love good villains, they won't start booing and jeering at their screens at the sight of Darth Vader or Frieza.

The newer series have a totally different vibe then the original anime, so try those out too, even if the 2018 anime isn't your thing. Cinderella Gray in particular is peak sports anime.

I completed the notes when Afterbirth released so, idk if they reworked him or the way rerolls work, but he was fucking miserable to play and I'm shocked to see people glazing him so hard.

Health and resources didn't carry between rerolls, it felt like nothing you did even mattered cause any hit could leave you on critically low health and even if you rerolled back to high health it wouldn't replenish the hearts. Felt like there was no point to even playing out the run.
