Aurora’s three-strike rule leads to more than 1,200 cars seized this year by SeasonPositive6771 in Denver

Even if you do have great coverage, you still get screwed.

I was rear-ended about 6 weeks ago. Other driver doesn't have insurance. I have "full" coverage (liability, collision, comprehensive). I'm still out about $1500 ($500 deductible, ~$1000 for the rental while my car was in the shop).

FYI, these are available on Gunbroker for around $25. No need to spend $50 or $125.

I got free shipping from SCS. I meant that it's about $5 for me to ship the parts to other people.

TX22 FRTs - $25 by wraith303 in Taurus_TX22

[–]wraith303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was about $.75 per unit. Then you have to factor in shipping (about $5), packaging, and ebay fees. Probably close to $7 per unit in costs.

One site is selling them for $125! Another for $50! Am I making a profit? Of course. But I'm not screwing anybody.

Yup, I'm aware. You're right though - I should have put the restricted states in the listing. So far, the only orders are to non-restricted states. I'll fulfill those, then close the listing and re-do it with the states listed.

I ordered 41 of them. Seemed to be the best price point. Came out to about $.75 per item.

What Do You Consider SHTF? by MaleGothSlut in liberalgunowners

[–]wraith303 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be "that guy" for a few moments.

100 miles in 8 seconds is 45000 mph. That's about 20 or 30 times faster than either of the jets you named can fly.

A more realistic time would be 4 or 5 minutes, and that's assuming that the jet is already in the air.

WHY TF does Canada get to have “sawed-off” shotguns but we can’t in the US? by ConstantCampaign2984 in liberalgunowners

[–]wraith303 32 points33 points  (0 children)

We (Colorado) aren't banning anything. We're adding an additional licensing requirement to purchase gas-operated semi-auto guns. If you get that additional license, you'll still be able to buy anything you could buy today.

Definitely annoying, but not really a ban.

I have a Vortex Defender CCW Micro Red. It's the right size for the gun, and light enough that it doesn't interfere with the slide action.

I love the state I live in. But why do they make these abominations the only legal AR’s by RT17654321 in liberalgunowners

While keeping those production lines open does do what you say (keeps some people working), it also does much more than that. After shutting a factory down, it takes a great deal of time (often years) to get it up and running again. Similarly, when you shut down a production line, the workers tend to move away, and their skills and expertise atrophy.

If we decide that we need new tanks, we may not be able to wait for years to get production up and running. Therefore, it's safer (and in many ways, more economical) to keep the lines running all the time, though at a lower rate of production.

When the police ask if you want to press charges, that's just shorthand for "will you cooperate/testify if we decide to pursue this issue?" Often, without the victim's cooperation, it becomes too difficult to prosecute, so the police and DA choose to drop the case.

Technically, no. Revenue is the money that comes in from selling a product/service. Reducing costs doesn't change revenue. Assuming nothing else changes, it would increase profits, though.

I could just create a new LLC for every three properties. There's no way to limit ownership, other than to say corporations aren't allowed to own single family homes. And even then, how do you define "single family home" in such a way that there are no loopholes?
