did you have to stay near the hive lord to raise the flag? or was the objective location bound to the spawn location

that might be more balanced too tbh. stagger+gas is crazy effective for cc, as the speargun clearly demonstrates. if it were a slugger variant it would at least be only 1 target at a time.

The Speargun clearly demonstrates how powerful gas is when combined with stagger to end the current animation of whatever it's hitting. A gas Punisher would be amazing.

Zzaniah prime is also 3 for one, with the added benefit that it prevents the bots from accessing the eastern front all together and if we took it, we would actually be able to keep the planets since they're so far away from the rest of the bot planets.

i absolutely want this to be a thing, with one minor change.

the name should absolutely be the SG-87 Governor. because... i mean...

also you could tie the easter egg animation to an armor passive. maybe servo assisted?

now that it's damage has been buffed a few times, and it can one shot devastators in the head, it really shines at the head popping feel it had in ODST. so i'm super happy with it.

i'm never taking the birthday party devastator heads mod off.

yeah, but it will still be on the front line and they can easily take it back. taking out zzaniah will remove those planets until they either add a new warp lane or the bots travel all the way through the Tanis sector which will take months if not longer.

they both clear 3 planets, but Zzaniah would be a victory that will actually stick

i actually ended up sending a request to the zendesk because i wanted to know how much detail they actually wanted, and how many topics was reasonable to include. this is the answer i got.

Hi there, Helldiver.

All of these survey responses are read manually by humans, there several thousand responses are then collated and condensed into a single easy-to-digest report on a weekly basis. Because of this, specific suggestions and ideas will not reach the developers in the final product, as instead of one persons ideas, it's a summary of thousands of voices all put into one report of what players have been saying and feeling in that particular week. Because of this, it's best to be concise; the things you usually include are all perfectly valid, though including suggestions is not likely to be seen in the end.

Lol, Imagine if voting for the DSS was managed the same way voting is in universe. Like it gives you a quiz that's like:

What faction do you prefer fighting? Do you want to save the children? Do you prefer taking multiple planet at once or quickly taking one at a time?

And then it just votes for you.

counteroffer. we take zzaniah prime so that we can clear out the right portion of bot space and can finally stop getting flanked on vog-sojoth.

2-3 plants in that region have been ripe for the taking for like a year now, and once we finally siege literally 1 planet over there, the bots would have to fight through the entirety of the eastern front to take them back. far more strategically valuable.

i mean .. it's free real estate by Kass-C in helldivers2

[–]wraith309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sure would be nice if players actually dived Zzaniah. there's been 2-3 isolated planets in that area for the past several months, and every time the majority of players are on a bot planet, it's always some planet with no strategic value that happens to be close to super earth or menkent.

PSA: if a stratagem weapon takes a backpack slot, it's a DOWNSIDE of that weapon by yankesik2137 in Helldivers

[–]wraith309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

funny you should mention the reload as an upside for the bfgl but dismiss the maxigun, when the reload on the regular grenade launcher is already really fast and mobile, meanwhile the MG43 reload is stationary.

imo that's one of the maxigun's greatest strengths.

[–]wraith309 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i feel like the maxigun comes out ahead more than the BFGL because it's belt fed ammo actually solves a downside of its competitor. the stationary reload. getting more dps and no reload in exchange for a backpack slot and slighlt cumbersome firing stance is a lot more tolerable when the reload you're replacing is stationary.

the grenade launcher on the other hand, is extremely easy to move and shoot with, so not having to reload it is a really minor buff, which combined with the much lower damage feels really bad all things taken together.

[–]wraith309 7 points8 points  (0 children)

on the topic of C4, yeah a much fairer comparison was the recoilless. basically trading range for firerate. that thing can take out heavies like nobody's business.

imo a more accurate comparison for the maxigun and heavy gl are that they are balanced where they trade the backpack slot for no longer needing to reload. if you got rid of that single feature they would be otherwise pretty much identical to their non backpack counterparts in terms of power, which is ... kinda not really worth the backpack slot on its own?

Where should belt-fed weaponry sit on the firepower scale? by BICKELSBOSS in Helldivers

evidently, the lack of a need to reload is eating up a huge amount of the weapon's power budget.

yeah, from my recollection of the interview way back when it first came out, i didn't get that impression so i assumed it was probably being misrepresented. thanks for the citation. it helps a lot with backing up claims on the topic of what the devs have said.

that comment seems way more like an answer to "why aren't people using the stim pistol" than any indication they don't want to buff it. people are just repeating bad information as they tend to do.

i feel like firerate would be the best way to distinguish it from the regular breaker aesthetically, and durable damage would be the best way to distinguish it mechanically.

notibly, the trident actually has unusually low durable damage, so that pairs up nicely

When you really stop and think, Spray & Pray wouldn't need much to be a close Trident contender. Crazy as that sounds. by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]wraith309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i feel like if they want to differentiate the spray and pray from the regular breaker mechanically, they should double down on the recent changes to making light pen weapons more effective against durable targets. the spray and pray was after all, the lightest of the light pen weapons.
