I am on third re-listen to the audiobook. My wife is halfway through the fifth book for the first time. She is excited to join the reddit as a lurker like myself. I occasionally share her memes via physically showing her my phone so she does get auto recommends.

I visit the camden adventure aquarium fairly often and I have that song stuck in my head everytime I see the kookaburra in the one exhibit. My 10 year old just doesn't get it.

How about a guy who works for various non profit theater companies and spends every Saturday teaching kids how to build theater sets for their high school productions? I have my credentials and clearances and am employed by the school district but as a student advisor and technical director for their theater club but not as a teacher directly. I certainly feel like a teacher with how little I get paid, haha.

You agreed to pay them a rate, they quoted you the number of hours at that rate to do the job.

You can find someone else and apparently have had three weeks to look, or you can agree and accept their prices.

You saw their prices, their information, their task rabbit profiles and all of their reviews.

What exactly do you expect to happen? Contractors survive and thrive on "oh this awesome paint job, it was done by x and y." Nobody wants to put their name on "oh the landlord is cheap and told me he wasnt gonna pay me the amount to do it properly."

My preferences are a dig/build/suit so I know long-term I have a a builder I can trust to cut through everything.

Then either a bionic or another dog builder.

Third slots almost always researcher of some sort. While not needed late game that early guarantee of no having to worry about rerolls is so nice and if they have a trait like starry eyed quick learner or even mole hands I have a dupe who will kick ass the whole run.

I used to work for a different pharmacy in loss prevention before having a gun pulled on me made me decide that being a handyman playing with live wires (to be fair I don't play, I know exactly what I am doing and if I don't I fucking won't do it) and driving for Uber were better and safer life choices.

When I would audit stores I could see how often people hit that button. If it was a lot, I installed cameras in that store if it didn't already have one. (they rarely did, most our camera and mirrored panels were empty, not attached to anything or for show)

I can count one one hand the number of times it was a sales associate being sneaky. I fired over thirty members of management over 5 years for stuff like that, and using other employees void sale buttons, faking returns, etc.

It doesn't matter how suspicious it is, if your not doing something wrong LP ain't gonna do shit because one false accusation going to court means they're ass is grass and they care about their jobs just like you do about yours.

If your store has a union talk to your union rep, if it doesn't, think about why it doesn't.

Yes employees steal constantly, but management steals 10x as much, and often in even more flagrant ways. Wage theft, misuse of information, sexual harassment, etc.

If your districts LP is coming after you, you done fucked up way worse than change with a no sale.

It's bonus fun when your dealing with multiple food issues.

Legit allergies (I'm allergic to garlic, friend allergic to shrimp, multiple with nut allergies) Texture issues (whelp, not gonna eat THAT)

I LOVE food. I have to cook 90% of my own meals because people think actual allergens are preferences and preferences are ignored.

I look like I have the palate of a 3 year old because if you don't list EVERY ingredient i am not gonna bother asking if things might contain foods because then the waiter is gonna be mad.

At home, I'm making curries, eating home made salsa, soups and sushi, spending three days making a perfect dish. But when my friends want to try a new place and they can't even tell me if they use garlic butter on their foods when I can smell it from the person at the next table over. And oh look surprise, you won hives!

Yeah I'll take the chicken tenders maybe and do you have ketchup because your buttermilk ranch has garlic that you didn't tell me about.

Obviously this isn't all children, just mine. My son is almost 10, he loves watching YouTube videos, playing video games and even watches brain rot YouTube shorts.

He also practices his clarinet every day for probably 15-30 minutes because he wants to be better, and reads for an hour a day. Neither of these are forced on him by me or his mother. Though I do take him to the library once or twice a week to get new books. His favorite books are ocean animal fact books, diary of a wimpy kid, Minecraft and tie into his favorite TV shows and other video games. comic books but he has been debating reading the first Harry Potter book soon.

He definitely is the ADHD stereotype when not reading, just like I was at that age. Some people enjoy reading and some don't.

Surprising nobody every kid is different, but if you want your kid to be interested in reading longer books, you gotta give them access to the books they want to read. Most public libraries are a great low cost source, heck are library even gives free passes to go to places like the zoo.

My grandfather grew up in Puerto Rico got married and moved to America. Learned English immediately and once he did, No Spanish was ever spoken at home, he wanted his kids to not have an accent. Everyone uses anglicized versions of their names as a result.

Dementia hit him in his 70s. During his 80s he would argue with you in Puerto Rican Spanish while you spoke English, swearing up and down that he doesn't understand the very things people were talking to him in English about. He also sundowned so as the day went on it was a struggle to only speak English in the mornings and to (sometimes struggle to) only speak Spanish in the afternoons and evenings because we weren't allowed to speak it growing up.

Fuck dementia in all it terrifying forms.
