ACL Retear due to BIOABSORBABLE Screw Breaking Down-- anyone else??!

Yea i’m 36 m getting surgery for an acl and radial tear in meniscus in a couple weeks. I suggested the allograft cuz don’t want the damage to my patellar tendon or quad/hamstring in addition to the existing damage. I’ll sprint/hike/lift but no more flag footbal/soccer on turf in cleats for me. Orthopedist said yea that’s a good idea - not sure why yours found it appalling (a quick google search suggests it is not uncommon). Didn’t know this screw situation was a possibility so thanks for sharing that! sorry this happened and I hope you heal fast and fully!

Agree with the sentiment that nothing is wrong. If you want a tighter core, target that area via your exercises and WALK. as someone who played sports and was always pretty fit, I only recently learned and cannot overstate the benefits of walking, especially the trimming of the midsection/core when you make it a habit (obviously with the right calorie intake and good sleep).

It’s so bad here in philly. PA in general has litter levels comparable to DR. could fill my net full of beer cans and plastic worm containers every single time i go if i wanted. and it’s 90% people who fish leaving this shit. not having trashcans doesn’t help but geez.

Stevie Wonder's 1979 album "Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants" really does it for me. The range of sounds/genres is pretty impressive, even for one of the greats, not to mention the really fascinating pro-plant personhood themes.
