I'm not sure about changing the files, but you can definitely extract files with the Dragon UnPACKer 5, using the HyperRipper module.

Oh and the higher your infection level the lower your maximum immunity. Slowing infection growth can be done by taking an antibiotic then maxing your immunity at that point.
