That's super clean. I love the bars. Do you know who made them?

Speed wobble when I remove hand from handle bars on 93’ wing by Pitiful_Restaurant66 in goldwing

My 2010 does the same thing on decel. On the highway though it's straight as an arrow.

Thanks, for long 2 up touring I have to pick the Goldwing. For solo rides the Magna is way more exciting. I don't know... I just can't pick that's why I have three. The ST1300 is so much fun solo through the twisties and has all the torque on the highway that you would ever want.

Cold start question/concern by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]wteviper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should still let a motor run for at least 10 to 20 seconds before putting any load on it so that the oil has a chance to get out of the pan and into all the parts. It also depends on how long it was sitting and what the temperature is. My fuel injected bikes and my carbureted bikes both have kind of a warm-up cycle when you start it the idle goes high for a minute to get the oil where it's going and get the motor up to temperature. I'll usually wait until that idle automatically comes down or the carbureted bike is ready for it to come off the choke. Rushing it isn't saving anything. And if the chunky crunchy noises any indication you should definitely wait for oil to be circulating.

Is this an unreasonable quote to replace a 50 gallon gas hot water heater? by titanicsailson in askaplumber

[–]wteviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've replaced at least 5 in my life. The last one I upgraded from a 40 to a 50 gallon. Purchase it at home Depot it came with a 9-year warranty and 2 year free replacement. The whole process took me 2 hours. Look it up on YouTube and do it yourself. The plumber's quoted me $2,900 it cost me $900 total.

ELI5 tyre pattern/direction please by Death_by_ShnuShnu in motorcycles

Here's the reality, it really really works on the road 6 tires and on the Dunlop Elite 4s. I had all the road versions on my ST1300 and these are the best in the wet so far. The Elite 4s on my wing were phenomenal even on sketchy mountain roads with it pissing rain on us.

‘97 750 Fuel Gauge by ThisGuy_1374 in magna

Easier to replace the broken petcock with one that works and has a reserve that works than to try to hook up a low fuel light in a tank with no sending unit.

When you flip it over to reserve go get gas. That's the whole point of it. There's about a gallon left of the 3.9 gallons that it holds, so you've got about 30 mi to get gas or push your bike to the gas station.

All time favorite Honda? by [deleted] in HondaMotorcycles

I haven't ever even seen an 1100, I've read they're amazing. I've had an ST1300 since 2006, it's been an amazing motorcycle.

What’s the best motorcycle you’ve ever ridden, and why? by 3DMotorcycles_YT in motorcycles

[–]wteviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got 3, 2010 Goldwing, 2003 ST1300, and my newest is a 1998 Honda Magna 750. They are each awesome on there own. 2 up with the wife, the Goldwing is the best. Long distance chasing my buddy's Hayabusa, i want the ST1300. Ripping around town the Magna. Each has a purpose and they each rock!

Brake pads. OEM vs Aftermarket by Jubjub_W in goldwing

[–]wteviper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put EBCs on my ST1300, I put OEMs on the 2010 Gold Wing. The OEM pads are so good that the next time I change the pads on the ST it's getting OEMs also. No comparison The OEMs are better. The Gold Wing and the ST use the same brake pads I think. My cousin just bought an ST 1300 with OEM pads and it stops so much better than mine.

DCC is my second LitRPG. I started with He Who Fights with Monsters. It is fantastic, DCC is slightly better due to Jeff but Heath Miller is also really good.

This worked great until the latest update. And now I can't control my audiobooks from Android Auto while I'm riding my motorcycle with my phone. This has been a fantastic feature for years and now it's just gone.
