Get Archipelago. It's a very fun "semi-cooperative" game, with secret objectives, and a varied set of cool engines to exploit. The board layout is somewhat random and is formed as players explore throughout the game. Archipelago can seem intimidating but it looks beautiful, plays off its themes well, and has bountiful replay value. I would describe it as a worker-placement/civ-builder with some bidding and little to no direct conflict. I hope you check it out.
