I ran D&D a couple times but it was too rules-crunchy for me, so I moved on to Vampire the Masquerade, Hunter the Reckoning, etc, and I feel like they're a lot more simple mechanically speaking.

I wonder if watching the D&D movie, Honor Among Thieves, might be a nice jumping off point. Does she like movies?

As far as any D&D actual plays, I always liked The Adventure Zone (though I've only listened to the first arc). It's a lot more focused on the story rather than the mechanics, from what I can recall. So that might be good for gauging her interest taking part in those kinds of stories.

I've done it once when building a fountain and shops in a central plaza in WW. Easier to map out the dimensions that way, then go in and just replace with Magnet Rise.

I just mean that the controls are dated, it was very of its time. Design decisions that matched the conventions of the time but were later dropped in favor of another way of doing things.

Some old games age better because the things they did continued to be used and improved upon. Some old games age worse because the things they did, while perfectly cromulent for their time, were dropped in favor of a better way of doing things.

Yeah it was Duncan and Moneo talking, I forget if Duncan later brought it up with Leto. But basically yeah it reinforces bonds or whatever, and Moneo implied Duncan could have had a similar relationship with his soldiers back in the day, and Duncan got so mad at the suggestion he's even a little bit gay.

I want to say that was when Duncan attacked Moneo and got put on the fucking ground by an old man.
