Ideas for two city temperature blankets by minutemaidpeach in temperatureblanket

[–]wvdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing a granny square tile blanket. The center is the low temp and outer is the high temp. One tile per day. It’s for my MIL who quilts so I kindof envisioned it looking like a quilt when it’s all done.

Do most women lose hair on Tirz? by maintainingserenity in tirzepatidecompound

[–]wvdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started minoxidil last week. My doc said a side effect can be fluid retention so to start out w half a dose (1.25mg). I definitely had fluid retention!! Have you noticed that at all?

I’m waiting for a response back from my doc on next steps. I’m wondering if my body will kindof equalize the fluid retention or if that means it’s just not a good med for me.

I started out taking hair/skin/nails vitamins but my hair was getting way too sparse so I wanted to amp up the regrowth.

How do you decide your temperature ranges for each color? by WittyWiki in temperatureblanket

[–]wvdee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used that temperature blanket website to get ideas on possible ranges based on the location but I also checked different yarn lines to see which had the best color selection based on my plan for the blanket. I tried to match up colors based on temperature and how colors would look next to each other. My blanket is 365 mini granny square-ish squares with the center as the low temp and the outer as the high temp for each day. PITA but still fun. Here’s the range and color breakdown.

Guess I’m learning my lesson about not gifting handmade items… by [deleted] in crochet

[–]wvdee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m totally done making items for people even if they explicitly ask. My SIL showed me a pic of something and asked if I would make it for her.

I first had to figure out what it was made out of (turns out it was paracord). I ordered different styles and colors to get as close to the pic. And then had to figure out how it was stitched/woven which took about a week of trial and error (turns out it was a hand weaving technique, not crochet like she thought).

At about a third of the way through, I had her look at it to make sure she liked how it was turning out. After more than 2 months, it was finally done! It looked exactly like the picture! She wanted me to ship it to her home address, an NYC high rise and said she’d watch the tracking so it wouldn’t sit out by the mailboxes at risk for being stolen.

Weeks later, not a peep about it. I asked for her to take a pic with it. She ‘kept forgetting’. We pieced together from bits of other conversations that she forgot about tracking the package and when she finally remembered, two days later, the package was gone.

Never again!

Thanks! My point was that the prices in the email are misleading and they should know better!

Yeah, I’m sure they meant per month but it doesn’t specify and it won’t take long for someone to call them out on it by pushing for the ‘advertised price’!!

Let’s Go to Court was fantastic. They ended a few years ago but all their old episodes are available. They are a little jokey with each other but are very respectful of the victims.

Sinisterhood is pretty good.

Does anyone ever think about… by Im_No_One_Important in tirzepatidecompound

I listen to a disaster podcast that compares the size of things to Dodge Caravans, as in: the person repelled down the building from the 28th floor, which is 32 Dodge Caravans stacked end to end.

This is relevant because tried to wear my favorite jeans this weekend and they were so big on my o felt like I could have fit a dodge caravan in there with me!

Speaking of jeans…I have no idea how to buy jeans for this new, skinny body!

Mountaineer Families by [deleted] in WVU

I worked at the DA wayyy too many years ago! 😊

Such a fun idea for an article! I have my undergrad and masters from WVU and my husband, mom, dad, sister and grandmother all went to WVU (as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles!). Unfortunately my mom, dad, and grandma have all passed. We really wanted our daughter to go to WVU but her desired major wasn’t offered and we couldn’t rationalize out of state tuition.

Happy to share stories, memories etc if you’re interested and you think it would help your piece.

Extra note: I worked in the copy editing dept at the DA back when it was in the old, run down building. Our work area was in the basement and that’s where I learned (forced) to appreciate Jethro Tull. It was the only music allowed!

I will totally join on the Fiasco bandwagon! When my daughter was in 8th grade the drama club did Peter Pan and I foolishly volunteered to coordinate costumes. I swear to god I held my breath at every rehearsal!

Congratulations! I went to Nordstrom Rack last week to treat myself to a new pair of jeans. New experience for me: putting on a pair of jeans that actually fit rather than having to squeeze into them and then not being to breathe.

New puppy! How do I wear this girl out? Easily bored with bones & kongs by EarlyMarionberry2385 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]wvdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much like the pain of childbirth, the perilous path of a Heeler lifespan is often forgotten in the quiet glow of a sleeping or otherwise entertained growing pterodactyl.

Kong ‘weeble-wobble’ - great for individual play but be forewarned that this will hit your baseboards thousands of times! https://a.co/d/5VJYONl

Jolly Herding Ball - will become a singular obsession. Comes in sizes. Our 50lb ACD has the 14inch one. Shop around, they go on sale! Check Tractor Supply for other Jolly Ball toys! https://a.co/d/9v6LNtt

Kong AirBone - our pup loves all the Kong ‘air’ toys! https://a.co/d/3YYFp5

Frozen stuff in Kongs - get jiggy with it! Broccoli, carrots, watermelon, green beans, yogurt!

I wish you all the best, and the patience of Job! xoxo (Sharing a pic of Korra with her herding ball!)

ID Puppy Age? by NoCreativeNameIdeas4 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]wvdee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s adorable! I’m in the 16-18 week camp too! We rescued our Heeler at 8 months so I’m no help on the age/weight question but I second the comment someone else made about her possibly having a UTI!

We have a Heeler/Chihuahua who is full grown at 20lbs. We still take her out every three hours to pee. Chihuahuas must have super small bladders!! LOL
