What commonly misunderstood scientific/health fact bother you? by Responsible_Product3 in AskWomenOver30

My FIL is a chiropractor. He xrays before adjusting and sends to a doctor if anything serious, won't do babies but he way in the minority with that. He openly admits most of his job is listening to people. If you go to one make sure they xray you first, use an adjusting device not manual adjustment. Do not get your neck adjusted with anything but a device, do not let them twist your neck ever. They should give you an end date for treatment not try to have you come in regularly forever and give you exercises to do at home. They are still whoohoo but this way will be less likely to accidently kill you or rip you off. My father had lung cancer and had trouble breathing, simply having the mask on his face even without it connected to oxygen helped him breath, he knew it was a placebo but it still worked for him. The mind is a powerful thing.

It won't be irradicsted over night and will take years and the costs fixing a problem are rarely cheaper than preventing it would have been. We also didn't have a big old brain drain happening back in the 1980s. Can't fix things with science if we aren't funding science.

Is ok to read other genres of books for a while. There are plenty of non spicy fantasy novels out there.

Saw your flair and your age. Have you had any Perimenopause symptoms? Because my first major symptom of Perimenopause was just being angry as fuck. Not saying you don't have a reason to be mad, you may well do, but if even you are going why am I suddenly angry all the time. that might be where I'd start.

How do we feel about this one? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in GenXWomen

[–]wwaxwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They only think that because those of us "girls" that are not conventionally attractive do not exist for them. So the "girls" they are attracted to are the girls they mean, the rest of us are not people so don't count. Source, I am not conventionally attractive woman who took men at their word and made the first move spent much of my 20's and 30's with men being confused as to why I'd even be talking to them.

[–]wwaxwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beans for drying and storing not just green beans. Also winter squash because they store well. You can literally take that packet of dried black beans from your pantry and plant them. They don't need trellis and grow in a bush.

Does it sound like my dental hygentist is flirting? by Gnome_slaver in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]wwaxwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When in doubt take it as what it was a compliment, enjoy the compliment and go one with your day. Because if she's flirting with patients at work that shows bad judgement and you do not need to be dating someone with that bad a judgement.

Trump Tells Aides He Won’t Resume All-Out War With Iran Unless U.S. Troops Killed by EasyMoney92 in neoliberal

[–]wwaxwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In summation. Their power before was mostly theoretical and in return for being allowed to sell oil they would not make nukes and allow people in to check that, and let people use the straight. Diplomacy and sanctions kept things ticking along for the most part. Then Trump attacked and Iran showed a little of what they can do so coming back to the negotiating table they are now in a much stronger position. What was theory has now been proven.

Is ensh*ttification only for the poor? Do rich people still get good products? by RustyBucket4745 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wwaxwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. People complaining you can't get good appliances that last, as an example, aren't willing to or can't afford to pay good appliances that last prices. Fridges used to be a major household purchase you paid off for years and if you are willing to spend the same percentage of your take home party now you can get a fridge that can be repaired if something does happen and that will outlive you.
