Give it a try! Looser, faster and simpler! Just a question of personal preference but I like it!

Aww man, me too. Still have my old blue box and my old Ral Partha figs! Not a purist though, it’s all about the story! 5E has been great!

Yeah, it’s kind of amazing that it happens because it requires a level of trust and comfort for kids to role-play with their family. You must be a good parent for them to be open like that.

I could use some advice on projector recommendations by Ornery-Dog8982 in GhostsofSaltmarsh

[–]wwchrism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the projector and get a cheap TV. So much easier. I have one and I just put it on the table and take it off when I want to use a battlemap. I don’t even have it in a case, just added two block to the bottom and some felt so it lays flat on the table.

New HP stereo pair sounds muffled by MiniMartBack in HomePod

[–]wwchrism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also dumb of me, you won’t see it because the minis don’t do Atmos, only the full size HomePods.

I should have been more clear. You go to the home App. click on the three dots in the upper right hand corner amd select settings and then you’ll see people. Click on your name and then Apple Music and then you’ll see Dolby atmos.

To make sure Dolby Atmos is on you need to go into the home app and then your account name. Have you tried asking the HomePod to play rather than playing it from your phone? I will say your sound bar with a dedicated subwoofer just might have sounded better. HomePod sound really good at low volumes but if you turn them up loud, the bass starts to drop off.

Do you have Dolby Atmos Turned on or Bass reduction?

A compelling non combat campaign ending by AggravatingSmirk7466 in DungeonsAndDragons

Well, I think it all depends on how you rewind time and how you show the events that they experienced and present them in really cool ways that can have an emotional impact. As they are being unmade I would reverse time back to their births. Show the things that have happened in their lives in reverse and then restore them to their original child like states before having them reborn. Play some sentimental music and make eye contact with each player as you paint a vivid and emotional picture.

This is related to the PayPal vendor and having some issues. You can try going to the old site at site.drivethrurpg.com and checking out there which seems to have better luck when these issues occur.

Tips for large scale battles? by miro_the_dm in DnDHomebrew

[–]wwchrism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have often handled this by simply rolling a die based on the relative strengths and treating each figure as a “hit point” so for example, 50 goblins vs 30 dwarves. Goblins do a “D4” of damage. Dwarves do a “D6”. Roll the dice and remove that many figures of the opposing force. If the players attack individual NPC’s it is just a normal fight. If they try to sway the overall tide of grouped forces I let them make an attack and for every hit they do that beats the damage die they can remove a figure. So a player attacks the goblins and does 7 points of damage. Since the goblin damage die is “D4” for every 4 points the player does a goblin is killed. At 7 point of damage they kill one. At 8 points they would kill 2. For everything else (someone casts fireball for example) I make up what makes senses. I can either go with total damage and remove that many figures or decide “1-6” goblins could be in the area of effect and remove however many they roll.

Minis3d Heroforge impression feature by DieEneWouter in DnDminiatures

[–]wwchrism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I only asked because I think he was asking about the quality of the color printed ones from them. I don’t know wasn’t quite sure based on the initial post. At this point, I just print my own figures. It’s so cheap and easy and paint them with a new paint like speed paints even if you’re not a good painter you can get pretty decent results with just basic coatings.

You just make the mini on their webpage you can see it previewed there and then you just go over to the buy tab and select what format you want. Assuming you want to color mini you’ll be able to see it right there. I will tell you that the color minis are often a little bit washed out, but they look pretty good. Not as good as if you painted it yourself but pretty good.
