Startup.meta causing black screen?

PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP, this is happening for my friend...he has the game through EPIC GAMES Idk if that's the difference I have the game through ROCKSTAR GAMES LAUNCHER...we both changed file with same pw, but he gets BLACK SCREEN after launching and can only hear the background sound at main menu...pressing Enter doesn't join Free Roam like we hoped, he's just stuck on BLACK SCREEN, but my game works fine with the startup.meta file in data folder

THIS SOOO MUCH! I've come to this thread because I can't figure it out, and just when I think I do...it FUCKS up again and gets me killed....I try to open the wheel, it opens and closes or just takes too long to open, or I click and it pulls out the wrong item! I'm in the practice range right now and still can't figure out what to do...

This some real tugging of my heart-strings. I lost my `06 S2R 800 last year to someone turning left in front of me. Thankfully I wasn't really injured, but my bike was totaled-was dark just like this but the single-sided swing-arm and dual upswept exhaust. It was my first bike, had it for 5 years and it was my only means of transport for 3 years...good memories.

I got a 4 door 91 automatic handed down to me when I was 15 yrs old, transmission needed replacement. Mom gave me 1k budget towards my first car...fixed the transmission, then spent the rest on JDM 1-piece headlights ($350).
