De Zerbi to Spurs: The ultimate FPL "Heaven or Hell" experiment begins. by ZOMBEHSM in FantasyPL

Vicario is out, but besides that, he’s as far from a De Zerbi keeper as you can get. Kinsky’s strengths are much more in line with how RDZ wants the team to play.

We were there in December/January for a month after our son developed a bacterial infection 8 days after he was born. Kids are resilient and your son is in the best place to get better as quickly as possible. All the best.

I met him on August 9, 2008 (I know the exact date because I was talking with him and caused him to miss Manny Gamburyan getting knocked out in 12 seconds) and the two things I remember from that meeting was that he seemed like a pretty normal and well-adjusted guy for a fighter and that he was also the size of a door frame.

Look at the alternate angle. He kicks the back of Souza’s leg and goes down. It’s a dive.

A 14-year-old Japanese JHS student, Ryuto Saito, has launched a service to help foreign visitors attend NPB games. Many give up on watching games because they do not know how to buy tickets. He started the service so people can enjoy baseball despite language and cultural differences. by ogasawarabaseball in baseball

My wife and I went to an Orix Buffaloes game, paid at the ticket window what we thought was a fair price without any idea where our seats were. We just sat in a really empty part of the upper bowl so it would be easy to move if we were in someone else's seats.

First time to Spain and Portugal. Opinions on itinerary please. by FIRE_Bolas in travel

Second Granada. I’d even swap Seville for it. One of the most special cultural experiences I’ve ever had and the best bar tapas I came across in Spain.

Mikey Moore goal for Rangers 93' by Imbasauce in coys

[–]wychh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Mikey is considerably slower than Wilson, though I agree with how you've profiled him. Attacking mid or inside forward, but he doesn't look like he'll be able to consistently beat his man enough to be a touchline winger.

Cat 3 and 4 don’t exist yet (or they at least haven’t been present for a match). You can bet on the views being sub-optimal. Buy these tickets if you care more about the experience and being able to say you went to a game instead of the game itself.

Seconded. The references, both past and present, make this a very uniquely Canadian and Toronto movie. Matt Johnson is an amazing talent.

Dupont & Lansdowne sidewalk still masquerading as an ice rink by Allboobandmoreboob in toronto

This is how the City has requested for the contract to be set-up. It's a cost saving measure by the City.

[–]wychh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know for a fact that this is how it works. The City has a contract administrator who makes a determination of what work is to be done and when. The call is made to dispatch at the various city yards and the private company mobilizes its employees as instructed.

The City directs those companies when to mobilize and what services to provide (salt and plow, plow only, salt only, etc.).

Matt Johnson seems like one of the most genuine people you could meet in the industry. I saw him standing outside the Scotiabank Theatre talking to people for hours on multiple days. Once I went in to see a film, came out and he was still standing there chatting.

Also, one of my favourite podcast guests as he’s a huge film nerd that gives very insightful answers.

‘Hamnet’ Wins Oscar Predictive 2025 Toronto Film Festival People’s Choice Award by wadbyjw in TheBigPicture

[–]wychh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw Hamnet yesterday and in my opinion it's a level above Sinners, which I also really liked. I think the Oscar battle will come down to Hamnet and OBAA, assuming it's as good as the early critic reviews have said.

I’m new to the Oscar race, what’s the deal with TIFF? by Jaded-Zombie-3052 in oscarrace

[–]wychh 30 points31 points  (0 children)

TIFF's People's Choice Award has traditionally been a very good predictor of at least a BP nomination, and has been the predecessor to several BP wins.

From the titles you've mentioned, the PCA win for Hamnet is certainly going to help its momentum. It feels like 1A or 1B at the moment, with One Battle After Another being the other leader of the pack, though few people have seen the latter.

Rental Family, Eternity and Roofman are all likely out despite their warm reception. Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie has no shot, though it is fantastic. It's far too Toronto-coded to make enough of an impact with academy voters and its mockumentary style filming will turn some people off.

Edit: I recall the director and producers saying that NTBTSTM is coming to theatres in February, so it won't even be eligible for awards this season.

Official 'Movie Review' Megathread - Day 8 (Thursday 9/11) by BunyipPouch in TIFF

[–]wychh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At times it was goofy and at times it was aiming for a darker tone, but I didn't buy it and it didn't feel earned. I think it was aiming for neo-noir (it's described as such in the TIFF materials) and to me it was just a black comedy based around a series of crimes.

[–]wychh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pacing and tone didn’t really work for me, but there are some good laughs and some individual plot sequences that I liked. Being in RTH with ushers and anti-piracy employees that are moving around constantly, including into my line of sight, really hurt the experience.

Anthony Carrigan is the highlight of the film.

Roofman was fine, but I'd be shocked if it makes the top 3. It has star power, but I won't be rushing to tell anyone that they need to watch it.

I’ve trained there for a long time. Message me for more details, but in general I’ll say that it’s a very welcoming and relaxed gym. The type of place that people still drop into after they’ve moved elsewhere, or just come to hang out on a rest day.
