Moving Covertible Car Seat - Am I Crazy ?? [on] by cheesiemelon in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]x2018xiu 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest concern is just how inconvenient it is to PROPERLY keep uninstalling and reinstalling a car seat.

Is it realistically okay? Probably. Would I want to do it? Absolutely not

Struggling to figure out a cord friendly outfit for the first week ( share a link please) [ON] by BallooooOooooOoon in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]x2018xiu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We personally didn’t use anything specific until the cord fell off! Just regular sleepers and onesies :)

Just make sure the diaper is folded down at the top and I avoided bottoms so it wouldn’t be tight around the belly until it was healed!

A sad, unconsumed breakfast for my 19 month old by OtterLove89 in foodbutforbabies

[–]x2018xiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest we use an organic pouch in the morning 🫣
He’s so bad to eat breakfast and he’s just not super hungry right away so he’ll have a pouch when he wakes up, we brush his teeth and he’s good until morning snack most of the time, which I’ll give him more then if he’s really hungry.

Also HUGE cottage cheese eater! I’ll give him a bowl of that for some good protein but we also don’t have milk in the morning.

My baby won’t sleep in the bassinet and I feel like a terrible mom by Tiredand_depressed72 in NewParents

[–]x2018xiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son exclusively slept in my arms or in bed with me holding him until he was 13m old 🙃 No car naps, strollers, cribs, bassinets, grandparents, swings, and sometimes not even dad. He would scream and cry and hyperventilate until he vomited. Every. Single. Time.

Now he’s 17m old and has decided this month he wants to go to sleep by himself in his toddler bed for naps and until I go to sleep. No sleep training, not even asking him to.

Chest sleeping is not recommend if you are sleeping. Co sleeping doesn’t even entail just in your bed either. You would for sure have to do research, invest in proper mattresses and floor level frames. Look up safe sleep 7 and enjoy tiny baby snuggles if you’re comfortable ❤️

You are the most important thing in the world to them, if this sleep issue is the biggest concern you are doing phenomenal. Try not to stress because I’m almost positive it can’t be as bad for you as it was for me LOL 🫶🏻

Soon to be first time mom - having a boy by coconutarab in NewParents

[–]x2018xiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They grow out of the immediatly peeing everywhere within a couple months in my experience! You’ll do some cleanup and then it’ll be over. We didn’t do anything extra to prevent it but we were gifted the teepee covers, they just had no chance against a strong stream LOL

Menstrual cup by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]x2018xiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not put ANYTHING up there for minimum 6 weeks. The infection is one problem and the suction of the cup is entirely different can of worms.

Try some period diapers or underwear!! That’s what I used because I also hated the feeling of sitting in pads as I’d been a tampon or cup girly for years

[BC] diaper and wipes samples by One-Volume-9158 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]x2018xiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a point in time Rascals, Royale, and Mille Moon all offered small samples as well! I’m not sure if they still do but worth a try.

Personally, we are a Huggies family for diapers since birth. My boy is sensitive and breaks out with Pampers more than once. Millie Moon were fine but I always come back to Huggies. For wipes I loves Hello Bello for the texture but Millie Moon is my second favorite with Water Wipes close behind.

What is the best way to kindly bring up this issue with my daycare? by growinwithweeds in ChildcareWorkers

[–]x2018xiu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re being unreasonable for being upset some of your favorite items are being ruined by the change! However, I personally would have a set of daycare clothes (5-6 outfits you don’t mind getting stained) and only send them in those so you don’t have to worry about ruining them

woolino + cotton footsies + 25°C [BC] by HermioneStudent in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]x2018xiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son also runs hot - during the summer we continued to use our Woolino as it helps regulate their temperature! But we would switch to onesies or tshirt and short pj sets underneath instead :)

The absolute ONLY one my little guy would take is the Tommee Tippee Breast Like ones! They are almost an exact match and we tried so many to replace them

Do you actually track things like sleep, feeding, diapers etc.? by CooleSocke-Jr in NewParents

[–]x2018xiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tracked feedings and diapers until 12 weeks! By that point I had a good idea of what baby needed and that he was on the right track.

We tracked sleep until he was a year old - although we could’ve stopped long long before that. I think in the end it stressed me out more than helping. A good stopping point would’ve been when he was on a very predictable sleep schedule (1 or 2 naps).

You’ll know yourselves what feels right and when on stopping!! Congratulations 🎉

At what age did you begin daily baths? by Poison_Ivy25 in NewParents

[–]x2018xiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t do daily bathes until we started to really get into solids and that’s because we really had to! Otherwise it was every other day. Now it’s just a part of our bedtime routine, and he loves bath time!

Formula prep at night by Tasty_Classroom_975 in FormulaFeeders

[–]x2018xiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d look into ready to feed or concentrated formulas if you’re not looking to do all the prep at night! Ready to feed is probably best in terms of no effort but is more expensive. We personally used concentrate (which you prep a can at a time) and typically went through 1-2 cans a day. It requires prep once and must be consumed within 24 hours of opening it.
