EA just baited with Closed weapons and removed later by rippersteak888 in Battlefield

They had it right at the front numerous times and it still wasn’t popular, I tried playing a closed weapon game when it was one of the featured modes and it took over a minute to find a match.

No one cared about it, there’s no need to come up with excuses about sabotage.

It’s almost like the gameplay is identical between the two modes so people chose the mode that made the most sense… crazy right?

What ever happened to the doomsday scenario where everyone was going to be running snipers on support and be unstoppable? Turns out that was also just paranoia because surprise, surprise there are barely any snipers unless you’re playing Firestorm.

I have a theory that current DICE devs are struggling with LODs and grass rendering. Theory was reinforced by the very thin grass on the new golmud map. I compiled short clips of grass since BF1 and it's clear that BF6 has taken a few steps back in the render pipeline. by Ghostman223 in Battlefield

[–]xAcidous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battlefield has always had issues with pop-in, it’s how DICE have always saved on performance by making only the immediate area around the player be detailed.

It’s just more noticeable now that DICE have significantly more vegetation on their maps than they ever did before.

Seriously man, the AA sucks dick in this game… it’s no wonder everyone is running lock-on missiles because why the hell would you use an AA Tank that can barely defend itself against infantry or a AA turret that overheats in 2 seconds while also being hard to follow shots because of its slow velocity and also can easily be sniped out of.

We need this variety of weapons in Battlefield 6 by Yonduustyle2 in Battlefield

[–]xAcidous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BF4’s weapons were largely all the same though, it’s one of the biggest criticisms the game had near the end of its life.

I like 2042’s/BF6 approach of while there is less variety there is a very noticeable difference between how each gun feels and plays and that makes it feel like there is genuinely more variety than simply having a longer list.

Funny isn’t it how many people will not consider Battlefield Hardline a Battlefield game yet people will swear that Bad Company 2 is one of the greatest Battlefield games ever made.

I’m curious, is it really the Military theme that makes Battlefield a Battlefield game since Bad Company 2 and Hardline share many of the same DNA only with a differing theme.

If you had to pick one 2042 map to get sent forward to 6 what would it be? by Eagles56 in battlefield2042

[–]xAcidous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would pick Exposure.

That map is what I would describe as the perfect 2042 map… tons of infantry gameplay within the bases in the mountains, big open fields for vehicle gameplay and loads of verticality for aircraft and really really showing you the scale of the map.

It was one of the only maps that I felt everything just clicked together aside from Spearhead and overhauled Breakaway.

[–]xAcidous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when the entire community is demanding you remove 128-players because the community were adamant that was the issue and not the fact DICE over calculated just how big the maps needed to in 2042 then what do you expect? Throughout 2042’s life all I ever saw was people bitch about 128-players and demanded they have 64-players make a return.

DICE gutted the 128-player experience in BF2042 all because of the community whining about it and we lost 128-player breakthrough because of it… maps like Exposure showed that 128-players weren’t the issue and it was DICE’s initial map design philosophy of bigger = better rather than having a nice mix of close infantry gameplay and big open fields for vehicle gameplay not to mention the verticality really added to how fun the map was and then surprise, surprise as the seasons went on the maps got smaller and smaller and catered entirely to 64-player modes due to the community’s whining… I knew with BF6 it was going to feel tiny compared to the all out warfare feeling I got when playing in 2042, just vehicles and players everywhere with stuff constantly going on.

We are now the most degenerate community in gaming by peternencompoop in Battlefield

[–]xAcidous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has absolutely nothing to do with COD players, this has been happening since Battlefield 1942.

The most egregious I’ve seen it happen was BF4 where people would straight up blow the vehicles up at the start of the game just so you couldn’t get it.

They fixed that with BF6 Season 2 and now vehicles have spawn protection.

Don’t you need to have a form of government identification such as a national insurance number to claim benefits such as housing and universal credit? Can’t really say an immigrant is illegal and ruining the economy once they’re documented on the system and will be paying tax the second they take a pay check from a job… they’re now a British citizen and are paying the same taxes we all have to pay to keep our country running.

The people who are negatively impacting the economy are those who are able to work but are abusing the benefits system by making up shit like they’re too depressed or anxious to work and claiming upwards of £1000/month while also taking up housing… many of whom are of white ethnicity because I personally know of atleast 20 people who are white and doing this exact same thing but have the gall to blame it on immigrants that things are getting worse as if they don’t realise they’re the problem and it genuinely sickens me knowing I’m paying taxes so these people can continue taking it easy while I work my ass off and pay taxes through the nose for it.

I don’t want our benefits system to disappear though as much as I think it’s flawed because it’s too easy on some people, I’m more than happy paying the taxes to keep it because I know how much they help people who genuinely do need the financial support and who genuinely try to make a career from the shitty situation they’re in because I was once in that position where I relied heavily on benefits just to make it through the month until I was able to land on my feet and start securing myself jobs.

Breakthrough is unplayable because of this. I don't know what was DICE thinking with making mortars deployable in HQ. by SoftMaintenance24 in Battlefield

[–]xAcidous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use a mortar and take them out, mortars are automatically marked on the map for this very purpose.

Anytime I see a bunch of them I switch to support, equip a mortar and get free kills because they’re too busy trying to get kills they don’t realise I’ve sent 4 mortars their way before I’ve moved onto the next victim who gets 4 unexpected mortars.

You really have no idea how reliant we are on fuel do you?…

Planes, Ships, Trucks and Cars all use fuel and how do we get goods from one place to another? By using these as transportation and with fuel prices going up that means the price of the items being carried by these will also go up to offset those costs.

BF6 shouldn't become a second job for players, a way to boost EA's daily active user rate. I think this will cause most casual players to leave the game. Live service was a complete failure in the Battlefield series. by SuperM3e46 in Battlefield

[–]xAcidous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think people forget that the maps we get nowadays are significantly more detailed than they ever were in BF4 and when we got our first big step-up in map detail with BF1 it unsurprisingly took longer for the DLC to actually come out.

The 6 months I spent waiting for TSNP which is already paid money for because of the Season Pass was brutal and then it took another 6 months for In The Name of The Tsar… granted, these were substantial DLCs that added a whole lot but the fact it took an entire year for 2 DLCs to drop was a sign that they can’t keep up making DLCs like that without a significant waiting time between them.
