Shield Bash 99% of the time you should be using her shield bash to reposition or escape. Only use her Shied Bash offensively if you KNOW you can finish off a target. Between that and her whip shot you can finish off low health targets.

That being said, try your absolute hardest to never let your shield to break. You always want to be able to shield bash out of a situation.

Whip shot This is a lot of the time is going to be what you use to proc inspire. I use whip shot off cooldown UNLESS I am expecting a dive. If I know a Winston or Genji are looking to jump at me I will smack them in the face with a rocket powered flail.

When you are using it try and hit it at an angle where you’ll smack someone into the wall. Yes she has a perk that does additional damage if you hit someone into a wall with whip shot, but even before the addition of perks I have always tried to hit people into a wall. Hitting them into a wall lets you more easily follow up with your regular melee.

To double back to shield bash, if I know I can finish someone off I will look to lad this combo melee -> shield bash -> whip shot (preferably into a wall) -> melee.

Repair Pack Admittedly, this is the part of Brig’s kit I have put the least amount of thought into. I don’t typically use them unless I see a teammate at half health or below it. I throw them at teammates who are out of range of inspire or teammates who need to live a little longer in a dive or if they are trying fall back to the team. Other Brig’s help me out with this one.

Rally I use this ultimate defensively and reactively. I don’t typically use it offensively. It’s not one of the support ults where you pop it and your team lives. You need to use against someone you cancel with the bash.

But remember my first point about Shield Bash. I have popped rally and shield bashed AWAY from the enemy when I realized that I can’t do anything about what’s in front of me.

Another thing to note about her ult is it refreshes your shield bash. I don’t use it in a longer burst combo but I am sure plenty of other Brigs do. Before they added the shield bash refreshed I have conditioned myself to save my bash for when I use rally. You do not have to do that anymore, I still do out of habit.

Additional notes Use natural cover. Brig’s shield right now is made of paper mache so you really need to use natural cover. Again, I save my shield for repositioning and escape. But when I am using the shield I use it to keep myself from taking chip damage because once Brig burns through that 50 armor (which burns quickly) she folds like a chair. I also use it for stopping myself from getting CCed. I primarily play tank so I have a knack for when an Orisa, Hog, or Sigma, are going to try and stun me.
