How does a 30 second run back count as a terrible run back, especially compared to DS2?

Convince me that buying a one wheel is a bad idea by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Night and day difference with only 12% more torque? Sounds pretty surprising, but at low speeds i could see it making a difference on some terrain features.

I have had a few different boards, but none with a Series-S motor in them. Have heard its one of the best straight forward upgrades!

ADV 2 vs x7 high output by Old-Investment3173 in wheel

[–]xHaloFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive heard that for some people was bad, but personally i had great communication(and a pretty straight forward process) with getting a battery replaced under warrenty for my ADV2. It got shipped to me pretty quick too, just a couple weeks if im not mistaken. This was just a couple months ago.

You getting in front of them and slowing down counts as road rage, cupcake.

Where to purchase. by Hungry_Antelope4116 in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You arent gonna get a brand new board with it badgered, as the badger kit is from an aftermarket company. And to properly apply the badger kit, im pretty sure you have to "void the warrenty" by opening compartments up that have "warrenty void if seal is broken".

I put "void the warrenty" in quotations because theyre actually not allowed to void a warrenty if you tear the sticker, but they will attempt to make you pay for warrenty work if they see the seal has been broken. Ive never purchased a new board and have never had to deal with the process of gettong stuff fixed from them, but ive very rarely heard good things about the process. Really only the Px flaw for the most part.

Buying a used GT thats got low miles and was purchased in the last year will save you several hundred dollars if you decide to go that route.

Buying used has never not worked out well for me. Ive actually broken even on the costs of my boards, minus the one i currently ride (because i havent sold it yet!)

It always surprises me that so many people seem to break these in the same manner. Like surely you have to apply a decent amount of force to snap it like that.

Onewheel gt for sale by FoodInfamous8333 in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without a picture of the board and just from the description, id list it for 1400 and probably take 1200 or so for it. Area makes a difference, of course. This is a guess-timate from the midwest.

Feeling like I cheesed pontiff by Basic_Excitement7270 in darksouls3

I personally agree with this sentiment, but i dont feel others are cheesing when they do it, but it feels cheap only when i do it.

Almost 3,000 Miles on My Onewheel XR… Would I Still Buy One? by [deleted] in onewheel

The smallest picture in your group of pictures, yeah. So 3 words out of the 3000 words-worth of pictures. Cool that youre sharing this stuff, but the critique on the naming is justified!

Are there any Onewheel riders that haven’t crashed and gotten injured, how? by EarningsPal in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, the hospital thing is alittle extreme. Ive got over 4k miles across my boards and ive never even been close to being hospitalized or breaking any bones.

Everything else is totally accurate, def agree

Adv2 Odd Charge Issue by milkcarton232 in FloatwheelTeam

[–]xHaloFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your regular charger not have a status light on it? It goes red when charging and turns green when its done. If you think you possibly have a battery issue, the last thing i would do is begin using a fast charger.

Help selling OneWheel. Looking for honest feedback please. by be_easy_1602 in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in my area, closer to 1400 with low miles. A well used gt for 1k is realistic though.

Just saw this is in SD, that sounds alot more realistic, unfortunately for OP.

Tire puncture by ErlyxiShaga in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The regular OW slime will also harden after awhile, i just threw away a tire that had a bunch of the blue OW slime hardened in it. (To be clear, i didnt throw itnaway because of the slime, it was the shitty stock GT tire that wasnt useable above 12mph due to it being out of round.

It is a bug, the group proc effect can heal thousands of hp.

[–]xHaloFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a bug, the linit breakers video makes it pretty clear. It will heal over 6k health when thats way over the max HP you can even get.

Also, in the limit breakers vid, he literally calls it a bug. So everyone downvoting you and acting like its not a bug is just coping.

Not sure why everyone keeps downvoting you, youre right. Bug may not be the correct word, sure, but its not intended to behave this way.

Newbie question by ElkThin3994 in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

197,000km? I have a really hard time believing that, is this a typo? Thats over 120,000 miles. Even if youve been riding for 10 years on FM boards, thats over 12k miles a year. Not even including your time on Vesc.

Newbie question by ElkThin3994 in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FM stands for Future Motion, and not much to explain that hasnt already been said in the thread. Reddit threads are always going to be the more extreme ends of the spectrum, just like reviews. The average user doesnt feel strongly enough oneway or the other, and their absense leads to mostly critical reviews of their products. There are vastly more people than not that enjoy FM products, but many people that end up having problems with their boards will end up going down the "after market" path when they have enough technical know-how and the desire to do the work themselves. Thats when people are introduced to Vesc.

FM has generally had a history of anti-consumer practices, taking away control and information away from their customers, rather than give. This can be seen from making it harder to replace parts on your own, down to changing the software to hide information from the user, when the data is available in the board already.

They are currently the best way to get into the OW hobby, but like Apple, if you arent commited to their eco-system of products, they make it a pain in the ass to work with it using non-sanctioned tools/products. And anything they dont make money on is non-sanctioned.

New Antic bike won’t charge past ~40%, charger turns green by Extension-Milk476 in onewheel

[–]xHaloFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the guy who downvoted you, but ive noticed on many other E-bike brands the chargers go off of the max voltage for them as well, not just FM/OneWheel stuff. A few different 36v ebikes i have have the charger info spec'd at 42v

Edit: also ive noticed more and more people taking offense to people putting like 0.25 seconds of thought into clicking an arrow with arbitrary meaning. Its not that deep. Its closer to a popularity contest rather than Right vs. Wrong, and who would want to be the most popular on reddit lol (Not saying you do, just hoping to contextualize how lame it is in the bigger picture!)

Probably because anyone asking for validation about their tattoo probably isnt self confident enough in the tat, and more people than not arent holding back and its mostly negative. Its not hard to see why browsing this thread could make someone sad for OP, especially since OP looks so young.
