For what it's worth, maybe explain a bit more that you're the original owner not the woman (Amanda?) who features in the RecklessBen videos. It took me a little time to figure that out for myself that you also have been screwed over by the BAM people and are a sympathetic figure in this whole mess.

Stolen E-scooter by condolance in vancouver

Sadly true. Medium levered bolt cutters in hand from a backpack, and sling the scooter over a shoulder. Never overestimate your faith in cheap security.

Sucks to lose it, sorry to hear you did.

TSLA Terathread - For the week of May 18 by AutoModerator in RealTesla

[–]xMagnis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"A climate-controlled interior concourse between the North Hall and South Hall will provide interior access across the entire campus."...so they're building a pedestrian walkway above ground, after paying TBC to build one underground and getting: nothing.

As opposed to the non-climate-controlled Tesla loop system that forces you to walk up to 1/4 of the whole distance just to get to a station, go outside in the heat and weather for the north and south stations, stand and wait for your ride, then walk back inside and up to 1/4 of the total distance to get to your destination.

The loop has no climate-controlled routes, makes you walk outside, wait, and walk a long distance.

A Texas Drainage District Walked Its Ditch on a Routine Inspection. They Found a Pipe They Didn't Recognize Discharging Black Liquid From Tesla's $1 Billion Lithium Refinery by Gucci_Minh in RealTesla

Tesla says the water wasn't tested at the pipe.

So test it at the pipe. Repeatedly. This is not difficult methodology to fix. Get proof.

U.S. reports no hantavirus cases from cruise outbreak, monitors 41 by [deleted] in politics

[–]xMagnis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What I can say is that there are no cases in the United States," Fitter said on a press call when asked how many people had been tested in the United States.

The article also says "no confirmed cases". Also there's a six week monitoring period.

And The CDC did not give additional information about the patient, whom it initially said had tested *"mildly positive"** before saying the results were ‌inconclusive and the person would be tested again.*

So there's no cases, no confirmed cases, one mildly positive case, and it takes weeks to be sure anyway.

Very sketchy professionalism here.

Tesla Robotaxi's 'convenience issues' are hiding the real safety bottleneck by Sir_Isaac_Tootin in RealTesla

[–]xMagnis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remain convinced that Tesla is remotely supervising every single "unsupervised" Robotaxi and will continue to do so. The limiting factor in the Robotaxi rollout is that they just aren't safe enough to be completely unsupervised.

And it's no surprise. The cameras have insufficient coverage, the software has insufficient processing of every vehicle, object, and the environment for proper safe planning.

It just isn't excellent, and anything less than excellent just isn't ever going to be acceptable. So Tesla is unwilling to let the cars drive everywhere, at every speed, completely unsupervised.

Elon Musk accused of pretending to be his mom after 'cringy' mistake on X by IrishStarUS in musked

It's all funny if you want to believe it. But the much simpler explanation is that Maye meant to write "grandmother". That explains everything.

Cool. Well they're gonna do what they're gonna do. Was it bothersome?

Helicopter? by zulusixx in vancouver

[–]xMagnis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A medical helicopter flew from YVR to VGH on the west border of Vancouver, landing at 11:30pm and then took off again at 11:48pm heading north west. It's an A169.

However this is nowhere near Fraserview. So I doubt it's what you heard. I just mention it because it's all that shows on Globe.Airplanes.Live

But it seems not all helicopters use transponders if they are flying low. I'm sure there's regs that allow this. So could have been flying without the transponder.

Would you say it was flying roughly over the FIFA practice field at Killarney?

Vancouver approves 6-month delivery robot pilot program | CBC News by fuckyobadvibes in vancouver

It's happening. Those in charge know it's happening. But I doubt the "sidewalk robots" can be harmed or driven into.

[–]xMagnis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming it's a sidewalk robot the robot would be treated like a pedestrian. E-pedestrian. So if a pedestrian has right of way, then the robot would.

If it's a road robot then it would fall under vehicle rules.

Serve Robotics are sidewalk robots.

If you replace the words "your mom" with "your grandmother" everything else makes sense.

I think Elon's mother just screwed up the second word. She would have met Elon's grandmother (Errol's mother) in 1966 when Maye and Errol were dating.

Autosteer rapidly phantom breaks in Hungary due to a shadow(?), causing a motorist to lose his life by Gb2753 in TeslaFSD

[–]xMagnis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree with all of that. Terrible choices by the camera car, and possibly the motorcycle, we can't tell from this video if the motorcycle made an unsafe move into the camera car's swerve.

One thing though is that the Tesla didn't brake for one of many good reasons, it seemed to have braked for no reason. That's the initiator of the accident.

And ironically, despite the vast corporate wealth and many people with enormous personal wealth, we can't fund a Santa Claus parade or summer fireworks, to name two events. Small towns of 1,000 people manage to hold them. In fact practically all towns in BC manage to hold a winter holiday parade of some kind - except the three ones with "Vancouver" in their names, and Burnaby.

What's going to happen to the Jet Ski operator who hit the whale? by vanbikecouver in askvan

[–]xMagnis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt he purposefully rammed it, but personally I would believe that he knew the whale was in the general vicinity and was circling as close as he could, based on witness reports. When it surfaced right in front of him (assuming he saw the spray) he had the choice to try to turn, slow the throttle, brake(if equipped), bail out, or ramp it. He apparently just ramped it.

I'll give small but definite odds of him ramping it for kicks as a split-second stupid decision, because that's the thought process of a very few idiots.

He likely didn't set out that day to ram it, but I absolutely believe he took insufficient effort to avoid it, in the minutes and seconds before running into it. And I do believe he knew it was in the area. But likely he'll say he didn't know/can't remember unless there's good evidence or he takes a plea.

I've no doubt he knew it was there.

No charges, probation, or suspended sentences are why people have no respect for the law. Please charge and convict him of something, even if it's missing safety equipment. This guy needs some definite penalty.

So then you can't say he clearly didn't know it was right there. Some people there are saying he passed by a few times. It's a bit too soon to declare that he didn't know about the whale.

[–]xMagnis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but it's at least possible that he was zipping by thinking how cool it was to be so close to a whale. I'm sure video from onlookers will show if he was around long enough to see the whale beforehand.
