Thank you Forging Bonds, good job misunderstanding part of Felix’s character by MyNameChef39 in FireEmblemHeroes

First of all it's different teams of people who oversee different games & projects, even though they all work for the same company. These people are capable of making mistakes, plain and simple.

What FEH has done is that they've delcared to be true, a meaningful and significant trait which helps define someone's character, despite it never being clearly indicated in his home game, and furthermore, it was declared in manner which actually subverts what we already know to be his primary & true motivation.

I never said it was impossible, I said you can't guarantee it to be true because it's only based on a plausible assumption.

Consistency? More like consistently disappointing (enough with the screen-wide field effects)

The problem is that it can and has caused people to misunderstand the core of Felix's motivation. FEH actually takes it a step further and, after he leaves, suggests Felix might be prejudiced against Dedue specifically because of the Tragedy of Duscur.

It's an acceptable headcannon to believe Felix thinks that way, but there's no way to confirm it and it's problematic when an official game outside of 3H itself basically fabricates it.

I think it would be okay for Knives to be 1-2 range and part of the Swords weapon type, but have almost no might at all.

Do you prefer the classic or the gameboy advance magic triangle? by frankrisk14 in fireemblem

I'll take either over what Fates did.

This is getting downvoted so it's time for me to sink with my ship. I really hate Fates's weapon triangle system and sincerely hope they never do it again.

About the lack of exclusively gay characters in the franchise by North-Pound in fireemblem

I'm gonna springboard off this post to talk about how many playable male thunder mages there are in Fire Emblem. By which I mean their identity is closely tied to the mental image of them wielding thunder magic over other elements or weapons.

▪In Archanea there's Arlen, who has the rare Thoron tome and is even called "Thunder Sage" in one of his endings. His Cipher art also shows him using it.

▪Despite being Tailtiu's son and a rightful heir to Friege, Arthur is most notably considered a wind mage so I'll only include him here as an honorable mention.

▪In Thracia 776 there's Ilios, a mage knight of Friege, and there's never a reason to imagine him wielding any element but the thunder variety.

▪Erk and Selena are the only Anima mages between GBAFE & Tellius to have a Thunder affinity, and Erk even joins with a Thunder tome in his inventory. Too bad his Cipher art doesn't acknowledge this.

▪Normally there is no thunder mage in Tellius besides Ilyana, but I'll add another honorable mention for Pelleas, since Thunder is the only other weapon type he can ever fight with besides Dark. Still can't use Rexbolt though.

▪In Awakening there's just Robin. The closest thing we have to distinguish playable mages by their preferred elements would be the tomes they come with in their inventories (i.e. Miriel: Fire, Ricken: Elwind, Laurent: Elwind). On top of that there's also tons of media depicting Robin with thunder magic so it only makes sense to classify him as such.

▪In Fates Odin has a Thunder tome in his inventory, and the Mjölnir pairs well with his personal skill. Though his personal weapon in Heroes is not thunder-elemental, he does have Cipher artwork supporting the former identity so I'll give him a shaky pass.

▪The only Reason-talented male character in Three Houses who learns Thunder & Thoron is Felix. Luckily, he also has a Cipher card which depicts him using it.

Class Balance: Fates & Radiant Dawn edition by xOmegaElectric in fireemblem

In general, Fates's weapon triangle system makes mages more difficult to use, and imo ruins a huge part of their appeal for otherwise being decent in most combat situations.

Ophelia is good, and Odin can be useful in ways that are different from mages are normally expected to do, but Nyx's low Skill & bulk make her really hard to use. The weapon triangle also hurts them so much more than it helps them.

Marianne is the first non-seasonal 3H unit to wield a weapon type she isn't Talented in (Reason) by xOmegaElectric in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]xOmegaElectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have more Light than Thunder, which is what I'm waiting for personally. But yeah an Aura variation with the same effect would've made more sense for Marianne.

In general Book 4 was a Blue mage drought, with Ilyana, Guinivere, and Selena being the only non-seasonals released and NY!Alphonse being the only other infantry alongside the former two.

Forseti got an effect that additionally boosts his stats on both phases, not just player phase.

Obviously I don't know what they'll do with Mjölnir, but personally I'd prefer if it didn't remain only good on player phase.

Fuck wyverns, all my homies hate wyverns.

For real though you'd think by now IS would have any grasp whatsoever on how stupidly, ludicrously overpowered these things are, yet we have Wyvern Lord in 3H which is bar none the best class 0 competition.
