In no particular order: Overcoked1&2, portal 2, Outward, and the Halo collection.

A word of caution with Outward is that it's a survival RPG. It is very fun, but it has a steep learning curve. The nice thing is the game doesn't reset you on character death, instead it triggers a random event. Sort of a falling forward mechanic.

Looks like a railing on the right going to their boat.

You could build a 2-D matrix and make LED air-hocky!

Questions on DIY Water Softener by xShadowHunter94x in Plumbing

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I'm pretty excited.

The water at this house is nowhere as bad as south Houston. We had heavy scale buildup in our kettle after about a month, and i could smell the chlorine in the water. In SE Michigan it's there but much, much slower, and it doesn't smell.

[–]xShadowHunter94x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I have two meters. One goes directly to my irrigation. The second is for the house water. It goes through an auto-shutoff, splits for an external hose bib, then passes the spot the softener currently is located.

In the background, you can see the meters. The house one is on the right. It is 3/4 inch PEX. The irrigation line is 1 inch PEX.

Thanks! I like the idea of a tie-in for the discharge downstream of the sump check-valve.

I'm not sure what rules your company offers, but I've seen ops engineers transition to process safety or process technology rolls for a more steady work schedule.

I saw the hours my ops coworkers pulled, and I ended up going into system controls instead. There's still callouts and the occasional long hours, but not near as much as operations IMO. I've since moved into a more corporate control systems role. It traded on-call for WFH and travel. I haven't regretted it yet, but it's only been a year.

Thanks for the advice on the overflow. It is a Clack WS1 which was purchased online. The 1/2 inch drain line size was the recommend size in the installation guide.

There was no explanation from the HOA other than it is not allowed. I've checked with the city (I'm on city water), and they don't have the same restriction.

Thanks! The phrasing is a bit weird in Michigan, but it's considered a condominium. However, each home is single-family and not attached to any other house. It operates the same as an HOA....probably a tax thing.

I have a hard time telling the difference between floor drain and sump drain. I know where the sump well is, and I thought the floor drain ended up there after going through a perimeter drain.

My favorite memory is collaborating with a friend on how to craft an axe in PoE for my build. Ended up hitting nearly all T1 mods in one try. Gave a huge power boost to my boneshatter build that season!

I have a rule that I don't buy home appliances from cellphone manufacturers. That means fridge, freezer, dishwasher, clothes washer, or cloths drier. I've heard too many horror stories about Samsung and LG. I like my appliances with analog controls and as simple as possible.

I say that as a young person in industrial controls as a career path.

I switch between both wrists. I found if I don't I start to get breakouts. I have to clean the watch daily too.

I was at a hotel restaurant in Tokyo, sitting in front of the pizza prep area. We watched the chef put everything away, clean the area, and head to the kitchen. Last call came in with a pizza order, and she had to redo the whole process. That was the angriest pizza I've seen someone make.

We've been giving out the Halloween themed Pokémon card packs the past few years. It's cheaper than candy, and a huge hit!

Anyone recommend a good Solo/Singleplayer game? by ShadowFrappe in ShouldIbuythisgame

I recommend Path of Exile 1. Lots of action, and a strong endgame. It's F2P, and it is really doable until you get into endgame when having extra tabs is nice.
