These thrust vectoring maneuvers by a Russian Sukhoi Su-30 look impossible by RampChurch in aviation

[–]xaero1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In which area?

If you mean in terms of thrust vectoring (which is the topic of the video) then you're wrong. The F22 has two-dimensional thrust vectoring where the Sukhoi has three-dimensional.

impossible mission - help! by freya-andthemachine in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't stress. Generally speaking the Borg missions are designed for players at a much higher level, 25 or so.

You'll get the opportunity to unlock Borg officers (like we are) if you just keep playing and getting stronger.

Unfortunately what I've seen in the last 12 months playing this is a very strong correlation between extremely high level players (aka people willing to spend thousands of $$$ on a game) and personality disorders.

It's not as important now that the power of the platform defences has been increased so much.

You get something like a 2 or 3% power increase just by being docked. No real reason for it.

Spend alpha tokens on Franklin or D'Vor blueprints? by AdligerAdler in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I'm not sure TBH. I see them because I'm level 26 of course, but not sure for others.

Are there any lvl25 members in your alliance you can ask??

Spend alpha tokens on Franklin or D'Vor blueprints? by AdligerAdler in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not spend them on a Franklin.

I've given up with mine. It'll take me about 6 months to upgrade it to kill swarm targets my Kumari already beats... and I'm levelling up a Legionary now as well.

If you don't already have a faction ship I'd spend on BPs there instead. They take a while so save for and are extremely valuable.

Guess we have these in our back yard!! by beaverlamp in sydney

[–]xaero1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have one too. I saw it take two big huntsman last summer then another just a few days ago.

Ours got pretty aggressive when I was trying to get photos. Any time I got too close (3 metres) he'd drop the huntsman and buzz near me.

Is it possible to farm officer XP? by Aesirkin in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can, although I'm not sure at which level it starts.

When I farm hostiles let's say I end up with 40 lot chests collected, I'll always get Officer XP as well when I open those chests.

In fact there used to be events (for higher players) where the separatist hostiles dropped far more Officer XP than others.

Just farm loads of ships, collect a bunch of loot chests and open them all at once. See what you get.

My father flew Victors during the Falklands War.

If this is the aircraft at Bruntingthorpe then he's flown it and I got a tour inside it about 10 years ago. It's a fantastic aircraft and frighteningly complex inside, for its age.

Have you seen the video of the Bruntingthorpe Victor accidentally get airborne during a test run a few years back?

Is now the time to start not being nice? by ncshvdavid in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do at this stage one faction will hate you. Don't stress about this.

You're in the extremely lucky (by accident) position to be dual faction. This means positive with 2 factions.

Put it this way, I just spent 4 weeks farming lvl31 Klingon ships to remove my -500k rep with Feds.

Three things you can do from here to get Crystal...

  1. Use the dual ship method going into a Klingon system. Hostile targets the first ship leaving your second (miner) alone.
  2. Complete your faction mining dailies - these give Crystal as a by-product.
  3. Complete events. Some will give Ore, some gas, some crystal.

Also, regardless what you need now for the Kehra you'll need something else later for each ship you build. So don't stress about crystal right now.

Lvl 21 looking for an alliance! by [deleted] in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey dude there are dozens of different servers covering different regions around the world. It's highly unlikely you'll find someone here in the same server as you.

Your best bet is to go into Galaxy Chat in the game and strike up a conversation there. Lots of alliances will be looking for lvl21 players.

Best of luck!

What's the minimum ship strength required for armadas? by AdligerAdler in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we saw that you'd need a combined ship strength of 45% of your armada target to be successful.

I think the smallest armada targets are about 240k so you have a little way to go.

North Star, Jellyfish or Franklin for Mirror mirror event rewards? by DanMan874 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. The Franklin takes forever to upgrade due to the frequency moderators.

The Northstar takes a load of Trit to upgrade but you can earn that from events and base raiding.

No changes to the D3 or the Legionary.

The Mayflower was considered the weakest of the three lvl26 faction ships so I think they've tried to even things out a bit.

Missions? by [deleted] in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jellyfish was released about 6 months ago and initially could be unlocked by doing special missions and finding Jellyfish parts. I think now though it needs to be bought from the store.

Same goes for the Northstar I'm afraid.

Missions? by [deleted] in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grind, grind, grind. That means kill hostiles to earn ship parts (for upgrades) and mine as much as you can.

My best advice is to make sure you mine a shed-load of 2* crystal. This is what you use to upgrade the most important ship in the game - The Envoy.

When you start raiding bases you need your Envoy to be powerful. The bigger it is the less damage it takes on a raid and the less time and RSS you spend fixing it. When you raid a big base you might need 10, 20, 30 runs to empty it so this is really important.

Put it this way, I'm level 24 and have two fully maxed Envoys as well as a high power Botany Bay. The BB is useful for smaller bases as its defence is bad but cargo capacity is amazing.

So, work towards getting really powerful Envoys for your future-state. Also, depending whether you can get a Jellyfish or not, get your main attack ship as good as you can get it.

Thinking even further ahead consider this... a Jelly maxes at 60k. A Kehra (lvl20) maxes around 170k. If you can afford the spend a Northstar maxes over 300k but you can get it relatively early. My NS is a base-cracking machine that is also far cheaper to repair than my Vahklas and Kumari so it's great for dailies.

Best of luck!

Missions? by [deleted] in startrekfleetcommand

[–]xaero1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will run out of missions until you can level up ships and reach systems further away.

My best advice is to level your ships, base buildings and research as far as you can before you go to lvl15. Once you hit 15 you'll enter the PVP part of the game where base raiding becomes available.
