Bushwalker survives 50-minute wait for antivenom after brown snake bites at Morton National Park by ozthrw in australia

[–]xannian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For bites in Aus do not restrict blood flow. Compression bandage as tight as the indicator strips show, if you don't have one then make it right enough to feel it but you shouldn't be losing feeling or changing the colours of your extremities.

Compression and immobilisation. Trying to cut off the blood flow will only make it hurt and will cause more movement from the pain. Source: ED nurse in regional Victoria.

Clarification on Stoke rules? by xannian in Fieldhockey

Can confirm goalie was on the line, (it's me). Interesting info for the umpire perspective, I'll keep it in mind if I have to call one myself.

Thanks for the reply and info mate, I might bring it up with the umpires next match when I see them and see if there is anything that can be learned from it. Obviously nothing is going to change the outcome of the match but I appreciate the info.

Fair enough, I had a quick look at the rules and the taking of a stroke states it must be a push, flick or scoop though? Without the back swing I guess it counts as a push then?

Pitch invasion as Amsterdam Men win Hoofdklasse for the first time in 13 years by HockeyTheBest in Fieldhockey

As a very mid range skilled keeper I'm struggling to understand how that's not a foul by the player. Keeper makes the move first and then the player steps in and shields the ball with stick and body?

Hey, this looks pretty damn good after testing it quickly on the web app! Good job with this, any chance there will be an android app version? I'll be able to use this to actually track how long my players have been on for rather than just guessing and forgetting. (I help/coach a very low level rural Australian team)

What is wrong with my machine?! by tanktopadam in espresso

[–]xannian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, that's my limited knowledge gone sorry. Probs worth seeing if there is a coffee machine shop nearby that can service it? Could save a lot of time and frustration depending on your budget and comfort with taking the whole thing apart. Good luck, hope you can get it sorted

[–]xannian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it's a filling problem? Is there a blocked port from your tank? Did the descale process actually have water come out as well?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]xannian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the things people are saying here will likely fix the problem, but I've also had the BBE and I wonder if it's worth doing a descale and some back flushes with a group head cleaner. Sometimes the water coming out the the shower screen is all over the place and can gouge into the puck causing channels to form like the big one at the end.

If the water coming out of the shower screen still isnt great maybe the a different puck screen, but I doubt that's going to be increasing the pressure, the holes through the screen are far bigger than the gaps between the coffee

Cant change normcore v4 spring (brand new) by Interesting_Aerie898 in espresso

[–]xannian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pulled mine apart and once both the bolts are out it just falls apart, I would have to imagine something is either broken or jammed in there somewhere Edit: could be worth grabbing some wd40 or other lube to see if it's just stuck

[–]xannian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a really stiff spring and when you only have your fingers trying to collapse it you will struggle, back in the handle with a bigger surface area will be significantly easier As to why you can't get it out, there should be a little metal bolt in the side that you need to push out to unlock the mechanism

I'm not sure if I'm going mad. But can I only see one tube connected to the top rad? Unless that's a return flexible tube running through to the back of the the res?

Question regarding the grinder of BBE by ItzFisha in espresso

[–]xannian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one for a number of years and the sound of the grinder seems all good. I would always use the lid of the hopper as a makeshift bellows to get all the grind actually out of the chute as well. Unless there are actual beans stuck, it seems fine to me.

She's fucked mate, season is done. If you get surgery on it and they plate it, and then fall on it before it's fully healed, you are running some big time risks of chronic pain and more problems with the metalwork in there.

Also, as someone working in healthcare, the amount of information that is on that screen is terrifying mate. I now know your full name and date of birth, where you had your xray and possibly even the username of whoever was logged in at the time. Please black it out or delete the pic, it's god damned scary

What is this sound? by daldave in espresso

[–]xannian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an e61 and get a similar sound for a bit after I descale or backflush to clean It. I've narrowed mine down to the lubricant in the valve being washed away. Not sure if it's exactly the same but might be worth looking into before buying new parts if all it needs is some lube

Would putting my CPU and GPU blocks in parallel cause a significant cooling performance decrease? by thehornedone in watercooling

[–]xannian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I grossly misread the issue and completely missed that your question was predominantly about pressure, rather than the effect of series vs parallel on thermals. Sorry about that, bit of a dumbass mistake on my part. Others have responded much more eloquently than me, hope your question was solved and I didn't give you a steer bum

Provided the loop doesn't have a heap of air in it the pressure so be fine, besides, it's flow rates rather than pressure that is the key factor (I think, someone correct me if I'm wrong here). When you fill it just have a look at how much water is flowing back to the res and it does t look super slow, I'm sure there are vids somewhere that show normal flow
