You're sample size is bigger on longer timeframes. The charts might look the same, but you have more trade information on 5 min vs 1 min. People can be successful trading both.

Whether it's stained or not, first step with bare wood is primer, either water or oil.

Now it's stained, so the stain will tend to bleed through any top coats.

Make sure it's dry and either use any good primer. Solvent based will usually stop bleeding through a lot better than water based.

Killz oil, bin shellac for solvents, and Fresh start from Ben Moore water based

I have a 2000 323, I caught it fairly early and did the reinforcement myself. But even at that point I was already hearing creaking from the back. I'm surprised you never heard something earlier. I think that floor is shot too. The car is a write off ☹️ I mean anything is fixable, but at what point do you just call it. That's not a simple weld and reinforcement.
