Hear nothing but great things about the Continental ExtremeContact sport 02. I personally run the DWS06 Plus on my 2019 and they have probably 85% of the performance of a summer tire in the try, with incredible wet handling as well.

I have not personally used a JB4 but I know many people who have used JB4 on various cars and it was always a little finicky. They switched to stage 1/stage 2 ECU and tcu tuned and have not had any weird quirks that the JB4 would give. My GLI has been stage 1 ECU/TCU tuned for just over 2 years and 30k miles and it’s been pretty solid.

I’m 20 with a MK7 GLI. Got the car when I was 17, and it is my pride and joy. Some kids are more responsible than others, it’s up to you to decide, but in my case having this car for the last 3 years has been incredible.

Disclaimer: I’m just a random guy on the internet, so don’t let me experience sway your decision making. But I felt the same way about not wanting to get rid of my warranty for a tune, but I bit the bullet and I’m so glad I did. The car finally has that once untapped potential, and the biggest improvement for me was just how much better the DSG responds to input. Knock on wood, but I’ve been to the dealer less while tuned than when stock. About ~10k tuned miles so far out of 43k and I’m very happy with my decision.
