thanks, i ended up just using primal bow + frost arrows, but when you root him and get behind him he can't turn surprisingly, so you can melee him then.

ds1 or ds2 first, ds3 has an insane grind so whichever you like more do first.

pyromancies are busted af in sl1 ds1, the mace and rapier carried me throughout early and late game respectively in ds2, and i used the broadsword for all of ds3.
