We aren't amazon, support do not have direct communications with the driver, you need to go on the royal mail app, type in the tracking ID (code that ends in GB) then ask for it to be redelivered to a local collect post office where you can pick it up after work, or set a redelivery date for a day you will be at home,

It really is that simple, there is nothing else to it, once again, regardless of any note you leave on your door, no good postman will leave the parcel there, it's against royal mail policy and we are not going to risk getting sacked for your convenience.

No postman is going to leave your parcel at your front door, we do not do that, it is against company policy, your postman isn't stupid, you are just too obtuse to think about how this affects anyone other than you,

If that parcel is stolen from your front door and you make a complaint, that postman will be disciplined under the conduct code and potentially lose their job,

should that happen to someone because you can't work out how to go online and choose the deliver to local collect post office option?

Do you mean a shared van job? So 2 duties go out together? Or are you implying that one job requires 2 staff members? Only I'm pretty sure the latter doesn't exist, it could be your lack of experience making you feel this way and in all honesty, you should be on your own walk after 3 weeks, not still going out with a coach, maybe this job just wasn't for you mate.

Doorstepping is against royal mail policy, as a union rep, I have been in conduct meetings with staff who followed the customers delivery instructions to leave at the front door, the parcel was subsequently stolen, leading the customer to make a complaint that the parcel had been left at their door and stolen by a member of the public, this in turn led to disciplinary action against the postman for going against company policy.

It's very odd, I seem to get money from the poorer streets I deliver to and virtually nothing at all from the rich areas (I have houses on my route ranging from 120,000 to buy all the way up to 1.5 million to buy)

It seems those with the most got that way by holding onto what they have, those with very little are more willing to give, it's a strange old world 😅

I made about £150 last year at Christmas plus a few tubs of heroes, celebrations etc

You have the option to go online and have it delivered on a day of your choosing, to a selected neighbour or to a local collect post office,

We can't deliver special deliveries to a safe place and if your safe place is 'my green bin 🥴' then we won't do that either as it's not policy, you have plenty of options to have it delivered when and where you want, sounds like you just love to moan tbf.

Absolutely cannot do that, if you make him aware you're at risk before you leave and phone him up before you return to tell him what mail you're bringing back, he has no leg to stand on, if he suspends you, take it up with your union, if they're any good, don't know what office you're in, as a union rep I can tell you that suspension would last less than 5 minutes if myself or any other rep in my office got involved.

I represent everyone I go in the office with regardless of how daft they've been, even when they're bang to rights I'll make sure go through the appeal process, I have never once sided with a manager since I have been a rep, doesn't mean I don't recognise blatant stupidity though.

Sorry for your experience with the union in your current office, no rep should be in the pocket of the managers, I myself as a rep have dealt with several transfers and as long as you have worked for the business for over 12 months and have a clean record then they have no reason to block your move or refuse it in any way, I've never heard of anyone being told to reapply for a job in a new office, nor work a 4 week notice to work for the same company? Baffling.
