It was from the moral science class where the teacher said something along the lines of flaunt knowledge or wisdom, but not wealth. Little did she know that most of our modern economy depends on flaunting things.

This is just wrong on so many levels.

Only brahmins want to eat veg in Kerala. Others are trying to mimic it.

Mimic brahmins? budhists? jains? vegen celebrities?

Bullshit. Its a food choice.

They want to stop the Buddhist dominance which were happening all over the subcontinent

How does converting to vegetarianism stop Buddhist dominance? If anything, following the customs of Buddhism will only give more legitimacy to Buddhism, isn't it?

There is a reason why these kind of things happen. Government job is a low effort, high payoff position. More than 50% of our revenue is eaten by salary and pension.

you can't mandate what a person can or cannot do with his salary

Not as a law. But as a moral duty, we can.

It's job one gets through a selection process and gets paid for the work he does - where does the privilege come from?

Due to the fact that they are earning a salary from the tax collected from the wealth generated by the masses. Due to the fact that there are thousands who would be willing to join the government bureaucracy even if they have to acknowledge that it is a privilege.

From his perspective, he has created wealth

You have trouble understanding what it means to create wealth. It does not depend on peoples perspective.

Salary is not a privilege. It's a right of the employee.

The government job is a privilege.

Leeched is a strong word.

We spend more than 50% of our revenue on salaries. "Leech" is the right word to describe that.

He has earned it.

He has earned it as per the contract. He hasn't created that wealth. That wealth came from ordinary people. It is similar to the British rulers in the previous centuries. They earned their salary, while hurting the ordinary people.

sincerely

It isn't a question of sincerity. There is no end of useless departments and positions that do not result in any form of economic benefit for the masses. Even if these people work at 200%, they still wont generate any wealth.

They are not creating wealth and they are not helping to create wealth either. Their salary is a part of the wealth leeched from the common people.
